Liquid Glass Polish
I have been using Liquid Glass for 30 years. One car in particular I have had for 25 years now has had Liquid Glass used on it since it was new and it has kept the original finish still in good condition. I have seen other cars, the same model as mine with their paint pealing, fading and their clear coat just burnt off by the sun. My paint had been unaffected by the elements. Liquid Glass even states if you apply 20 coats it will literally resists stone chips! Great product and it works great on your chrome too.

Best and easiest shine ever.
Liquid glass is a top notch product. It's a little more expensive and harder to find than most car finish products but well worth it. It goes on and off easily, even in bright sunlight. Less effort and a better result for it than with wax polishes. I tried using other stuff but this will spoil you.

use cleaner first
Great product, used this many years ago and then couldn't find it. It goes on a little tough unless you use their pre-cleaner to cut through the old wax/polish. I did the top and trunk area twice and the second time it went on very easy! Good product, very satisfied with the black benz....

Liquid Glass
I have used this product for years on my vehicles. Easy to use. Lasts about year if you can "bake" it on in the sun for a few hours. Try it, you'll like it!

It's as good as they claim it is...
I bought this for my classic Corvette based on the reviews I read on line. It goes on very easily, and polishes up to a really nice shine in minutes. It's a very good product, and I used it over Macguire's premium Carnuba wax. The microfiber polishing cloths work really well with this.

Editorial Review :
Bothered by water spots on your windshield, dangerous road film, or silicone buildup on your auto glass? Are your household windows stained and spotted from sprinklers? Spot-X Hard Water Stain & Spot Remover cleans stubborn stains from your vehicle or home glass.Whether the water stains are caused by acid rain, salt water, road grime, sprinklers or well water, Spot X Glass cleaner will work, we guarantee it. While SpotX cannot be used on auto paint, it will not harm the paint if it gets on it. Simply rinse off with water.Household windows are just as easy. Can be used on porcelain. Remove hard water stain rings in toilets, light rust on porcelain sinks and tubs. Removes built up soap scum. Spot-X has protective qualities and once used the water will sheet off instead of beading off which causes water spots. Use again once sheeting stops or water spots begin to appear again. Please note it is very important to use the non-scratch pad that comes with the Spot-X. All OTHER pads have a grit in the glue that binds the fibers and will scratch glass. Our pads were specifically made for this product. Spot-X CANNOT scratch glass. It is just below glass on the Moh's Hardness Scale.
Customer Review :
Spot-X Isn't.
This product is the least saisfactory item I've ever purchased on the internet.
Poorly packaged, the cleaning pad touted in the description is nothing more than what can be purchased for pennies in any store.
I tossed this out almost immediately and regretted the entire transaction.
Rating :
It really works!
It does do the job. Takes a little more effort than the ad makes it sound. Wish it had included what it couldn't be used on in the description.
Rating :
It works but but it does scratch the glass.
Like all the other reviewerssaod, this stuff works great. I have tinted windows so it was easy to see the hard water spots. Quit speculating and buy this stuff it really does work.
I gave it 4 stars because it does scratch the glass ever so faintly. If you look at a angle you will be able to see the scratches left behind from their "no scratch" pad they supply you with. Kinda like swirl scratches left in your clear coat after a machine wash.
Although I will live with the little sratches, it makes me worried after many uses of this product what the window will eventually look like. If you are familiar with clay barring, this product leaves the glass feeling really smooth just like how clay barring does to paint.
Spot-X reccomends you use about 3-4 table spoons of the powder on the pad, but I found just using a teaspoon is more than enough for one car window. I also advise you do this before you wash your car as this can get a little dirty for the areas surrounding the windows. If's its for the house then pick it up now, very easy to use with great results.

This Stuff WORKS!
If you are skeptical about this product and all of the other very positive reviews here (as I was) believe me when I tell you it really does work if you follow the instructions carefully and are willing to exert a bit of effort while scrubbing. I had nasty hard water/salt spots on my boat windshield that nothing else I tried could touch. I tried everything i could think including vinegar, and two other chemical based products that claimed to be able to remove tough water spots but failed miserably. I cleaned my entire boat windshield with SPOT-X (inside and outside) and the glass is at least as clear now as it was when I bought the boat brand new in 2006. I STRONGLY reccomend this product. It worked perfectly awesome for me.

Amazing Product! Worked like a charm!
I just bought a 2007 Tahoe with tinted glass. The drivers side mirror and windows (part of windshield where the wipers do not make contact) had very bad spots. Nothing took these spots our and they looked like they were etched into the glass. I though the glass was ruined. I ordered spot-x (shipped very fast) the spots came off instantly. I was surprised how it did not scratch the mirror it looks like new! Great product!!!

Editorial Review :
Meguiar's Soft Buff Foam Polishing Pad has active polishing action to remove minor surface imperfections. It restores high gloss and features an exclusive foam cell structure to improve air flow. Pad changes are easy with the Velcro backing system.
Customer Review :
Works well
The pad works well. I use these primarily not for polishing but for applying glaze, but works well as a polishing pad. Either way, you should have several of these on hand if you're doing a job as you might need to swap out the pad for a fresh one as you saturate the pad with compound. Seems durable, already used a single pad on 4 jobs and still looks relatively new. I can't comment on much more because the rest is down to technique.
Rating :
Foam Pads Work Great (with a little problem)
I purchased and used these foam pads with my orbital sander machine and they worked great and did a fabulous job a polishing my boat. The small problem is how it attached to my orbital sander backing pad, which is a hook & loop type (Velcro). The backing of the foam pad is made for this type of attachment, but has a small fiber profile. The fibers should be larger and more aggressive for better holding power to the machine. After a short while of use, the foam pad would fly off the machine when I let go of the trigger and moved away from the surface I was polishing. I managed to finish the job by holding the machine and foam pad against the surface until it came to a full stop before removing the machine away. I never have this problem when using sanding disks.

Meguiar's Soft Buff Foam Polishing Pad
I was suprised how well and how easy they worked even on an extended van. It saves wear and tear on the shoulders.
Rating :
Requires Expensive Backing Plate
This may be a great product from a functional standpoint, but it requires an expensive backing plate be purchased as well.
Be aware that if you are purchasing this pad for your polisher, you have to purchase the backing plate as well or it is USELESS.

Excellent buy
I couldnt find this product in any stores and so i bought it from amazon. Works great like it supposed to. No problems.

Works well
There have been other products like this over the years, but I really like this one. It has allowed me to go back to washing my truck (Silverado with camper shell, so it's big) myself, because it is so easy to use and so fast to use.
I like that it recommends no special soap (I use Zaino Brothers products) and it has various spray styles to help reach everything effortlessly. THe only drawback I see is that it isn't precise as to the soap amount it sends with the water. This is due to the way it sends water into the container to force soap out with the water ... it just sends a portion of the water in the nozzle into the bottle, which forces it out another orifice. What this means is that as you use it the soap gets more and more diluted, until the very end when there is very little soap left in the container, and it is all mostly water. Is this a problem? Not for me, but for some reason I was expecting a suction system as used on some hose-end fertilizer systems, which raw out a "precise" amount of fertilizer based on the setting and no water actually enters the container. With that you can pour the extra back into the original container when you are done. With this, you cannot because it gets diluted as soon as you start using the soap setting.
That being said, I like it and I recommend it. It has already paid for itself by my not going to the car wash .... and my truck is cleaner than normal.
Rating :
Fun to Use and Works Well
I enjoyed washing my car much more with this device. It is so much easier than using a bucket and always trying to make suds. I found the soap dispensing to be somewhat "all or nothing", but I liked the really soapy mixture, so it wasn't a big deal.
My primary concern with the way it works is that it injects water into the soap mixture in order to push the soap into the water stream. This causes the soap in the container to be continuously diluted as you wash. Eventually it is not making much suds even though the container is still actually full, just full of diluted soap. I think this may waste some soap.
Also be careful not to drop it. I was trying to shake out excess water when it slipped out of my hand and onto the concrete. This snapped the handle from the body (at the metal even) and completely ruined it. I will be ordering another, though, because I am still very happy with the way it functions.
If it mixed the soap into the water without diluting the remaining soap and could survive being tossed onto the concrete once then it would be a definite 5 stars.
Rating :
Better than expected
I needed something to help wash the car. This fit the bill and it was better quality than I was expecting for the inexpensive price.
Rating :
Poor design
This was a terrible waste of money. There is no way to adjust the amount of soap dispensed, it all comes out as once. In addition, there is little to no pressure in the wash gun. It's off to the Salvation Army for this product.

This is my second purchase
I use this to spray insecticide concentrate on my plants and flowers. I grew tired of using the concentrate sprayers available at Lowes and Home Depot. I was looking for a sprayer that didn't leak, and got the job done. I stumbled upon this product one day at Lowes (never found it again though). I'm not sure if it provides the right mix of concentrate and water. I'm just glad it doesn't leak, getting more product on myself and the ground than on the plants. It would be nice if they expanded their product line to make them for other purposes. I grew a little careless with my first one, dropping it a bit too much, not realizing how difficult it would be to find another one. I hope this will be a reliable source if I ever need another one in the future. I just wish it was a little more sturdy, and the "O" ring holding the canister wasn't so easy to loose.

If you are as obsessive as me, and you really dont like your dirty emblems then get these brushes. They clean the emblems thoroughly and best of all, they will not scratch chrome finish

To big a head
Not really worth having as the brush is smaller than the head making it hard to get it in the hard to reach spots. The brush is not very sturdy so doesn't last very long.

Well I agree the head is a bit to big I was going to use these brushes to clean the hard to get areas of my 22 inch chrome rims, yet I did find a purpose for them, being a avid shoe collector these brushes work great to clean the soles of my shoes.

*Mothers Detail Brush Kit*/=O]
Hello/ I own this brush set and I do not see/feel a problem w/them. It says on the packaging, that when you're removing wax from hard to get areas,to spray the Bristles w/a Quick Detailer to help avoid scratches on the paint finish.I also spray the paint where I need to use the Brush. The Bristles are,IMOPO,alittle too firm, and would be safer on paints or clearcoats if made softer. The *Split Bristle Tips* do add to some gentleness to the brush. *Overall Construction* of the Brush is *Excellent*.Very Sturdy/Great Built-In Rubber Grips and the *Rubber Spoon* at the end works okay. I do not see how this Brush would not last.*ALWAYS* make sure that the Bristles are *Clean*!.Detail Brushes of any Brand need Care too. Best Regards/ Raymond V.Vasta

Question : Can the dealership take back my new car in this situation?
My wife and I were out for a drive today in her car and on a whim, we decided to pull into a dealership and look at cars. The salesman was a great talker and before I knew it, I was signing papers. He gave me a generous offer on my trade-in after he asked me two questions on the interior and exterior of the trade in. He didn't care that the vehicle was not with me, and got me approved, we signed all the papers, and they gave me the keys. They congratulated me and said the vehicle is yours. I then went home, got the trade-in and brought it back to them. It was pouring down rain so they only got the mileage of the vehicle, put its tag on my new car and sent me on my merry way. Now here is the biggie. They never drove it or checked it out. What happens if they find something wrong with it? Am I still ok? I'm probably just being paranoid, but I love my new car and don't wish to lose it. And yes, I answered all their questions honestly, but they never asked about the motor or tranny.
Answer:
I wouldn't worry about your trade-in. Depending on the year of the car, they will either put it on the lot or wholesale it. either way, whatever is wrong with the car they can fix dirt cheap. you're safe. sleep well.enjoy your new car!!

Question : How to take care of the exterior of a brand new car?
I just bought a brand new Honda Civic and I want to know what should I do to protect the original paint of my new Honda.Do they come with some wax or something else from the manufacturer?Should I start applying some products right away of just wait few month?Any other recommendations?Thank you.
Answer:
great Q! even though i make my living fixing and painting cars, it makes me happy when people take care of their paint. all you need to do is keep it clean and waxed. give it a thorough cleaning (in the shade) and then dry it with a chamois. a real one cost's a little more, but works much better and with care can last a long time. i can't stress enough the importance of not letting a car dry in the sun. it can cause some serious damage. after drying, give it a good coat of wax, also to be done in the shade. use a good quality non abrasive "clearcoat" wax. Meguiars is a really good one. keep it clean and wax it every 4 to 6 months. a good coat of wax will protect it from the elements and in times when you can't dry it every time it gets wet. if you do these things you will have a good looking car for as long as you own it.

Question : How much would a good car paint job cost me IF......?
I have a red 2006 Nissan Sentra and I want to repaint the entire exterior of the car black. I mean ONLY the exterior. Places on the car like under the hood, inside the trunk, the door jambs, insides of the bumpers, etc can stay red for all I care. I just want the car to look black when I drive by people. How much would a decent quality paint job under these conditions cost? Thanks!
Answer:
2-5 grand. Thats if you want once that will last you atleast 5 years.Anything under 2 grand will peel and fade withing 3 months trust me. I know it sounds expensive but cheap places like maaco will only paint over your paint or will cheap out and use low quality.

Question : Which car will be a better choice For My First Car:1997 BMW 328i Convertible or 1996 Honda Accord?
Well I'm 19 and I'm buying my first car, and I can't decide which car will be better. The BMW will be more taking care of, but I can do that. The Honda Accord is older and has more miles, but less expensive. I've asked friends, and they're split down the middle about both cars. Either very fond of the BMW or highly against it. Here's important information about the two cars.1997 BMW 328i ConvertiblePrice: $10,000-133,000~ miles-Automatic transmission-exterior: light blue-interior: all leather, white/blue color combination1996 Honda AccordPrice: $3,500-160,000 miles-Automatic transmission-exterior: light blue-interior: cloth seats, etc
Answer:
BMWs can be very, very expensive to fix. My daughter had one. She married an auto technician and now drives a Honda pilot. Hondas are very reliable cars and last a long time—verify it with Consumer reports for the best comparison.A car will be one of the most costly things in your life due to insurance, maintenance, repairs, gasoline, oil, etc. Unlike a home, it is not an asset or an investment. Choose wisely, and the most expensive car is not always the best. Look for a make that does not require much in the way of repairs. A certified auto technician will tell you what cars he sees in the shop all the time for repairs, and which ones he doesn't see because they are made well.

Question : What are good tips to restore the exterior classic car while on a budget?
I recently purchased a 1959 Ford Galaxie Fairlane 500. It runs pretty well for its age because it has been tuned up and taken care on regular basis by its previous owners. I am not too worried about the internal portion of the car because nothing needs to be repaired/replaced instantaneously.I do have a question, though, on how to fix the body of my vehicle. Like any old car that hasn't been watched ever step of the way, it has gained cancer spots on the bottom half of the vehicle. With my friends, we were going to clean the exterior, sand the rust to the bare minimum and weld on new shaped sheet metal. I've never done this before, but my friends have. What would be the best method or if there were any suggestions that could be shared from those who have restored a classic car or have turned one into a hot rod/ rat rod? I'm looking for the budget route. It doesn't have to be restored to a shiny new "thousands-of-dollars" toy, I'm more looking into the girly rat rod perspective.Thank you for your help and suggestions!
Answer:
If you can simply sand it down to bare metal and then paint, that would be your best option and it sounds like you and your friends already know how to do this? If not, here are the specific steps:http://car.tips.net/Pages/T004816_Fixing_Rust_Spots.html If the cancer you are referring to is rusted through spots, here is a detailed description with photos that will give you an idea of the amount of work required:http://wwwx.cs.unc.edu/~hays/crx/dx/rust_repair/Here's a great video primer that you will also find very helpful:http://www.expertvillage.com/video-series/2556_car-restoration.htmBest of luck to you - enjoy your classic ride!

Question : What is the best (and safest) way to clean my car's engine?
I am getting ready to sell my 2001 Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 and I would like to have it looking "like new". I have had an auto detail business tell me they can do that for $200. I'd rather save that money by doing it myself. I can take care of the interior and exterior because I have all the equipment necessary, but am at a loss as to how to safely clean the engine. I am worried if I just spray the engine with a hose, I'll get water in some of the electrical components.
Answer:
If you're after a really nice clean job take your car to a wand type car wash lift the hood and turn on the soap spray. Clean everything but the insulation under the hood. Don't let anyone scare you from doing this. There's not a thing under the hood you will hurt, warp, break, crack or cause any type of electrical problem. I've been using this exact cleaning process for 45 yrs. on car and truck engines. Forget messy stinking de-greasing products which still need to be rinsed off with water. The under-hood of your car will have the stench of kerosene when using foaming de-greasing products. None of them remove absolutely all dirt, oil and grease like a wand car wash. The motor will look like new.

Question : Any suggestion for me if I wanted to get Mazda RX-8 for a new sport car driver?
I saw a 2007 Mazda RX-8 and it has about 31k miles on it; and it only costs $15995.00. This car is also an AT car. I'm not really good in operating MT car and I don't want to be regret for getting a MT car. I'm really in love with this car because of the cool exterior and very fun driving sport car (as lot of sport car driver said) I have been dreaming of getting this car for so long!! What happen is;this will be my first car and also will be my first rotary engine car. I did a lot of research about this car and a lots of positive and negative comments ppl post about it. The main problem which is the "engine flood",need to change "spark plug","coil", the car cannot start after couple days later if you didn't run the engine and hard to start when it's cold. So I'm not quite sure is it easy for a new sport car driver that have not much knowledge about cars and also rotary engine will be to take care this car nicely (which is me). I'm just afraid of the maintenances are expensive. Does this car needs to change the spark plugs and coil very often and so do oil? I can't really afford for car tow and expensive maintenance if somethings wrong. I also read that this car needed to add fluid oil very often and I'm not sure what it is and how to do it. For use purpose; I only use this car to work from Monday to Friday and my job is about 1.5 miles away from my apartment. Weekend drive around town to run errand such as grocery shops, dinner and etc. All are pretty short drives and I don't want to have problem restart it after shut off the engine outside the restaurant or grocery store. Maybe once in a while on the weekend I will drive out of town from Victoria to Houston (about 120 miles away). I heard that is not really good to start this car and drive for short distance and shut the engine off. So should I get this car or not? Hope to hear from you and I really appreciate for additional information how to take care of this care this car with less problem and also good advice. Thanks guys =)I forgot to ask one more thing. Are those problems only occurs on the 04,05 and 06 models? I can't really find people posting the problem for 07 models and through the latest 2010. I have been Google the problems for the latest RX-8 problem and can't really find any.
Answer:
The rx8 is a really great driver's car. But AT really? If you are going for a fun car, just learn to drive MT. You will get the most out of the car. But if you love the car, get it.

Question : Cleaning the exterior of a car question?
So it is a 1996 Subaru Legacy station wagon with dark green paint and plastic trim that was either black or dark gray im not sure. Well the good news is there is no rust the bad news is there is a small spot above the rear wheel becoming rust, so how would should I stop the corrosion? It has some scratches and really small bits (like pea size) of the clear paint missing in spots how can I make the spots and scratches less noticeable? Also the trim which is plastic is faded it was either a dark grey or black and now it light grey so I was wondering how to darken the color with out paint (well if paint is the only way then oh well but if there is another way I want to know)? What do you use to protect the rubber/ vinyl on your car? Also what is clay, waxing, polishing, buffing, washing, and how do you use them and what is the best kind of each?I don't really care how long it takes to clean the car but the longer I can go with out having to clean it the better. Thanks
Answer:
1. wash car2. clay car-This removes contaminants stuck to your paint that normal washing wont get off. I recommend Meguiar's Smooth surface clay kit. You can also use the clay bar on your windows/wheels too, but of course, do the paint first. Can also wash your car after claying, but isnt necessary3.paint cleaners-These remove swirl marks/scratches/oxidation/etc. Different strenghts, depending on the severity of the paint. I suggest Meguiars Swirlx. Swirlx may not be aggressive enough, so you may need to step it up to Meguiar's ultimate compound, then follow it with Swirlx. How to use Paint cleaners: after washing and claying your car. Apply the product to a microfiber applicator. Work the product in a 16x16 in section for about a minute, then remove with microfiber towel, dont let dry. Inspect results, repeat process if needed, see if its up to your par, if not, step up to ultimate compound. Otherwise, if youre done with the section, move on and repeat. You apply ultimate compound in the same way.4.Pure Polish. This step is optional, as if you were to use a paint cleaner, such as the ones mentioned above, since they already have polishing oils in them. You'll notice more of a difference in using a pure polish on darker colors, but wont hurt to do it on lighter colors. Meguirs deep crystal polish is their most user friendly polish. Their #7 polish is the best polish, but side-by-side, it will be hard to tell a difference. To apply polish, apply to microfiber applicator.
