Rain-X Glass Smearer Wipes

Can't recommend this product: While it did seem to reduce fogging, it made a mess of my (clean) windshield. And once I got around to get the windshield clear again with a clean towel (not easy), the anti-fog effect was gone.

I got these by accident. I actually intended to get Rain-X exterior glass treatment which causes raindrops to form beads that roll off your windshield (which actually seems pretty effective, unlike these wipes!)

However, I figured I would give them a shot anyway. I tried treating my front and back windshield as well as front windows with these wipes. The instructions on the wipes do mention that a dry cloth must be used, and the wipes will definitely leave your windshield very streaky without a dry cloth.

I tried using the wipes both with and without a dry cloth to see if either treatment made a difference. In both cases, my windshield still fogged up as much as before!

These wipes are no more effective than regular wet wipes for cleaning purposes either.

I bought these "Interior Glass Cleaner Wipes" at a retail store. Had them in the glove box for about a month. When I broke open the package and used them the first time, I was left with a windshield that was so streaked I could not safely drive at night. I thought I would try another wipe, and then another, and another, in case my windshield was dirty and I was just spreading the dirt. But these wipes are white cloth, and they were still completely white after using each one, so I do not believe my windshield was dirty.

I used Windex to clean the RainX off the windshield, and then just used a moist cloth, followed by a dry cloth to get the Windex streaks off. I use the original Rain-X on my exterior windows, and I swear by it. But I'll never use an interior glass product of theirs again.

We Repeat: Do Not Buy These

My windshield was clean and my car is new (first Winter in my new Scion xD). I ran out of the $1 spritz can of no-fog I bought last year in the check out lane of my local grocery...so I went in search of a replacement. I picked these because I thought it was a name I could trust.

WRONG! I used one and it left streaks all over my windshield and the side windows. I tried another; same result. I worked over the windows until I could see through them...but the fogging was not diminished...it was WORSE.

This is a useless product no matter the price. I am headed back to the check out lane to see if I can find that little blue can--when I do, I'll let you know what it is.

Easy to apply, works fast.

I drive an old car that has a couple leaks... when the weather turns bad and water comes inside the car, well the windows fog up like nobodies business - to the point of not being able to see out of them at all!

A friend told me that I absolutely had to purchase this Anti-Fog and since it was so cheap, I did.

What a life saver!

You simply put some of the liquid on a rag and apply it to the insides of your car windows (the directions say 'clean and dry' windows). It dries very fast and somehow, keeps the fog from coming back!

I don't know why everyone doesn't buy this and use it in their cars. I'm planning on putting it on the mirrors in my bathroom too.

This is a great product. Easy to apply, works fast. I have nothing but good things to say about it and will recommend it to anyone who will listen.

Anti-Anti-Fog

Yup: it's easy to apply

Yup: it's totally ineffective!

Applied it, according to directions, to the interior of all six car windows. In fact, I even put it on extra heavy (which created a haze) on one window as a test. Every window fogged as completely as they did before applying this product.

Maybe it works with only the slightest amount of fogging, but then why wouldn't you just turn your A/C on for two minutes to clear that little bit of fog? If you have a REAL fogging problem, don't expect this product to do anything to help.

Not for use on motorcycle helmet shields!

I bought this product to put on the shield of my motorcycle helmet so it wouldnt fog up.I wiped in on and "tried" buffing it off but it just smeared and left a bad haze.I buffed at it for another 10 minutes and put some elbow grease into it.Finally the haze was gone.I put the helmet on and as soon as i put the helmet on,the first breath i took fogged up the shield.I took the helmet off and put another coat of the anti fog on the shield.Once again i had to really buff it out since it mostly just smeared.I put the helmet on again and once again the shield just fogged up with my first breath.

Conclusion--this stuff does NOT work on motorcycle helmet shields.This product might work on glass but thats not why i bought it.The product doesnt say anything about applying this stuff to helmet shields but then again it didnt say not too either.I went out and bought a product called Fog Off which works very well on helmets.I am starting to wonder if the Rain-x anti fog is just some rubbing alcohol in a bottle because thats sure what it smells like.So if your looking at this product for your helmet shield,steer clear from it at all costs!

Amazing product!

Purchased this stuff because it was cheap (as in i got it with my wiper blades and it was a dollar cheaper overall cause of that) and put it on and WOW! in a car with no AC keeps my windows clear. No more wiping them off by hand. I have always liked rainx on the outside of my windows but I have to say i was kinda skeptical when i saw it, but since it was a dollar cheaper overall with my wipers if i got it figured why not. I am a believer! If you are tired of your windows fogging up, go buy some.
