Editorial Review :
A complete professional repair kit with plug-in electric heat iron to make pro-style repairs.
Customer Review :
This item is crap.
This item is complete crap. After following all the directions by the letter for a very small tear in my black leather car, it looked worse after the 'fix' than it did before. The black was lighter than my car interior and looked horrendous after its application. I even tried using some black shoe polish to darken the spot up a little but nothing worked. Eventually I just scrubbed the area with some cleaning wipes until most of the product was removed and almost restored to the condition it was in before using the leather repair kit. Don't waste your time or money, you won't be fooling anyone. In fact, you will only draw more attention to the spot.
Rating :
Good Product, Not For Every Application
I think this is probably a good product, just not for the application for which I needed it. My pickup seat has a tear in the material where it hits the hard plastic of the seat bracket, it tore because each time the seat cushion is compressed the material would rub on the plastic. The repair kit does not provide a durable enough fix for this situation.
Rating :
Did the job
Hard to understand the instructions and heat pencil takes a while to heat up. Needed to reapply heat 4 times before it set. Afterwards it was a good patch.

Somewhere between duct tape and new...
I found a neat web site with a guy showing the proper way to use these type kits. The permatex one costs more, but it comes with the most of what you need in one stop shopping. If you are trying to fix a convertible top, or a chair seat, get some Singer(R) Iron-On Patches 2x3 Inch 10/Pkg-Denim, and iron one of these on the inside surface for extra strength. The repair will not be perfect, but it is a stop-gap between 100 MPH tape and giving away 3 day cruise ticket money. look at [...] and spyder top repair.
Rating :
Surprisingly good results
I'm quite happy with the repair I got from this kit. I had a big tear (1/2" x 3") in my vinyl car seat. This kit had everything I needed and the repair came out pretty good: you can tell it's patched, but I'd say it's 80% or so. Looks better than the piece of electrical tape I had on there before. For the price it can't be beat.
One advantage of my situation was that my seats were black so I did not need to do any color mixing. I could see how it would be difficult to get a good color match on a non-standard color.

Editorial Review :
Many other products simply coat vinyl and rubber with shiny silicones. Meguiars remarkable alternative gives you professional results by penetrating and cleaning, while conditioning and protecting against UV damage. All while leaving a rich matte finish.
Customer Review :
great stuff
leaves plastic looking new, not greasy and extra shiny like armoral. leaves car smelling like "new car-leather"

shine on, baby!
This product met my expectations and a little more. It nicely brought back the shine to my bumpers on a 1990 toyota camry and the effect this had made the car look much nicer.
Easy to apply, but seems to wear off or be covered by pollen and road dust and dulls down fairly quickly. Hence, only 4 stars...not 5.

My favorite cleaning product
I use Meguiars #40 on every piece of plastic in my truck. I also use it on the black exterior trim and the entire bed. I use in on the plastics under the hood after detailing my engine, and occasionally on the tires. I even used it on my soft tonneau cover when I had one. I love how versatile this product is and it leaves a soft, clean sheen without the slimy silicone residue like some of the more popular products found in stores.

The best there is
I have been using Meguiar's Vinyl/Rubber #40 for 14 years. Why? - Not shiny, phony glossy black. - Tires look new, not shiny, not dull, but nice rich black with a new look. - Doesn't brown or yellow. - Works well on interior dash and darker plastic on console - Doesn't leave an odor.
Do not use on rubber/vinyl floor mats or leather seats. You can if you want a semi-glossy look but it leaves the surface too slippery. My local parts store CSK/Kragen doesn't stock it anymore. Good find on Amazon. Cars: Porsche Turbo, Acura CLS, Aston Martin DB9

Meguiar's VinylPlastic Prep - H.D. VINYL CLEANER 16 OZ.
Customer Review :
Good stuff for a quick clean
This product works good for doing a quick detail job to a car, adds a nice restore of your dash with one spray and wipe.

Works well
This cleaned all the grime off of a vinyl chair that I thought was beyond hope. I had gotten it at a flea market and once the vinyl cleaner had been used it really shone. A great product.
Rating :
Product does not live up to title.
It is anything but "heavy duty." My vinyl is on a boat and is heavily soiled and this product did not touch it. Went with Simple Green, elbow grease and a scrubby and it worked better.
Rating :
Finally the thruth!
While restoring my 35 yrs old BMW did use several products to clean (or so I thought) the vinyl and the "shiny" look led me to believe it was clean: big mistake! I was only covering the dirt. After several application of this product was amazed at all the greasy dirt coming out and now the look is not only show room new but the feeling of freshness and comfort can be finally be enjoyed. You don't seat anymore on filth but on a crisp finish. I am waiting for No. 40 to arrive since that is recomended as the next step. I trust Meguiars prducts 100%. They are the real deal!

Customer Review :
works exactly as they claim!
I have tried many other odor eliminators for my dog pens. Nothing works as well as this one. It does not mask the odors with perfumy smells. It just makes them disapear!!
Rating :
It Works
Sprayed it into my air conditioning vents and that old ac smell was gone. At first it left a slight odor - not unpleasant and barely noticable, but its been two days and that musty A/C smell is stilll gone.
Rating :
non-toxic odor eliminator a must
Well, I use this product on the inside and outside of a garbage can. I also used it beneath the sink. It gets rid of odor, but the beauty is that I can use this product knowing it is not toxic. Other product is toxic, and I don't want kids or pets to touch those. This is non-toxic and therefore, I can use this in places where I otherwise won't.

Question : How much could i sell this car for?
The car is a 98 civic ex 2dr with a kbb of 4700. It also has a full turbo kit (2700) with upraded fuel system (500) obd1 conversion (300) full apexi exhaust (600) manual boost controller (150) chipped ecu (300) custom interior with re done upholstery to all black leather/misc interior pieces (600) Red racing seats (500) boost gauge with pillar pod(100) Custom Sound (400) custom purple metallic paint job (2500) custom black 17" wheels (1000) tint (150) si front end conversion (400) lowerd (300) engine accents (100). The car is literally in perfect conditoin no scatch at all. It has 110,000 miles on it and has been extremely well taken care with all necesary maintnece done to it. It is very fast (236.6 Hp and 13.12 1/4 mile). The car has about 11 thousand dollars invested, plus the 4700 blue book, it is worth almost 15,000. Again the car is perfect and flawless and will run till at least 200,000 miles. Thanks in advance for your input.Ok just so you all know...i dont expect to get 15,000 at all, i was just mentioning how much the car has put into it
Answer:
Your math is totally wrong. You're assuming that your performance parts only add to the value of your car. This is not the case. At all.Talk to most dealerships, they'll tell you that the more modifications you have, the more they deduct from it's value. Why?One really simple reason. You modified it to YOUR tastes. Which immediately makes it much less attractive to the general public, and only attractive to someone with similar tastes. Not saying your car is modded poorly. But, not only have you completely cut out any buyer who wants just a simple car, but the few potential buyers you have left, must accept the modifications you've done.Reasonably, considering the economy, market for custom cars, etc......$6,000-7,000.I'm sure you'll disagree, but go ahead and list it at $15,000. And keep lowering the price, until you get a buyer. I'd be shocked if it's more than around 7k.Final note: I saw your other question, where you mentioned that your car doesn't pass emissions. Knock another $1000 off, because now the buyer is getting a car that they can't even register until it's fixed and can pass.Nevermind that it is ILLEGAL to sell a vehicle, with the knowledge that it will not pass federally required emissions. It is the responsibility of the seller to provide current emissions, and the buyer can file a police report for a fraudulent sale, which comes with a police charge and a HEFTY fine.

Question : I want to muscle up a 1977 Lincoln Town car. How?
I know little about engines but I know one thing. The ride and luxury of the 1977 Lincoln Town Car is heaven on wheels. I found one in really good shape that runs, compression is right on the money 55,000 original miles for $3500 dollars. It's an estate sale. I know little about mechanics and I'm sure there will be a gazillion people who say I paid to much, blah blah blah. I gave the guy what he demanded and I got what I want. That's all that matters to me. Now that we've taken care of the critical nobodys lets get to the topic. I want to max out the two things about this car...one that I know everything about and one I know very little about. I want to up the look of this car...max out the paint, wheels, interior, upholstery...etc. I like comfort, and luxury this I know and the 1977 Lincoln Towncar has it all. Just needs a little pumping up. It also has a 460 engine which I've seen, in another car, hit 140 in a relatively short period of time. So I want to muscle up this part of the car and marry luxury with exhilarating speed. I've been told I'd have to beef up the suspension because the handling would be difficult with it's current suspension. Is that true? What about the transmission, drive line and rear differential. Some say it can take an upgrade of the motor, others say you have to rework everything down the line. The mechanics I know little about but I have friends that are all on board to help me do what I want to do. I'm looking for suggestions, pictures of mechanical work done on the 460 engine and/or a 1977 Lincoln town car maxed out the way I want mine to be. I need suggestions so I know what to tell others I need to make this a SUPER CAR. Can you help me?

Question : replacing or repairing front seats 99 grand vitara?
i have a 1999 suzuki grand vitara, i live in chicago, and well i have an issue with my front drivers side seat. the seat cussion tore along the long side on both sides and now i feel like im leaning against 2 steel rods every time i drive. the frame feels like its still good so thats not a problem. i am wondering if i sould replace the seat or go to upholstery shop and have them just fix it. it has to be as cheap as possible and interior has to look oem if not oem, if you live in chicagoland area also let me know where i could go......so please i need some prices and advice o and btw the interior is cloth not leather...i dont care if it is replacement i could do it myself i just need parts and prices or a decent shop to do it
Answer:
An upholstery shop here in southern California will typically charge about $150 for a seat. If you go to a salvage yard, you may find an identical seat( may need to be cleaned) for about 30 bucks, depends if it is electric or not. Your last option is, if you take it to the upholstery shop and only replace the inserts that are torn and not the complete seat.

Question : Please give me your opinion on my writing for college?
ok so im taking an interior design class at a community college and i had to find a picture of a room i like and one i dislike and i had to write a paragraph about each one explaining my opinion. are these ok? I Love the look of this room for many reasons. The space has a bright, airy feel and I enjoy the clean simple shapes and lines. The vibrant flowers make the room feel alive and fresh, while adding a much appreciated touch of color I think that the use of glass in the base of the lamp and in the decorative ornaments on the coffee table add a new dimension of visual interest. I like that my eye is drawn to focus on the graphic art above the couch. The couch and two of the chairs are in the same color family but have a slight shade variation. The pink chairs unexpected details offer a wonderful surprise for the eye. The curtains are subtle enough that they perfectly showcase the considerable size of the window. I find that the rug ties in all the different colors and pieces in the space and unifies them while anchoring the room. The pleasant colors, minimal accessories, and cheery atmosphere make this living room a place I would love to spend time in. I did not care for the overall look of this living room space. A couple of different things contributed to my dislike of the room. The busy patterns, heavy cluttered bookshelves, limited color palette and generally chaotic layout make this room very unappealing to me. The bulky bookcases give the room a cluttered and disorderly feel. While the chandelier is elegant; I think it is too formal for the room. The patterns on the couches do not complement each other. The pillows on the couch would accent the upholstery, rather than compete with it, if they were in a solid color. I think that if the color palette of the room was more varied it would add the right kind of visual interest, adding some colors with a cool tone might add some contrast. This layout has so much going on in such a small area that your eye darts around the space without focusing on any one particular part of the room, this might leave a visitor feeling overwhelmed and even a little claustrophobic. Ultimately there are items in this room that I think would be great in another setting but that do not work together.
Answer:
It’s very good. My only complaint is thus: You’re just using “I feel” “I find” and other subjective terms too much. I wouldn’t do that unless your instructor told you to.For instance, “The space has a bright, airy feel and I enjoy the clean simple shapes and lines.”Could easily be something like, “The space has a bright, airy feel and the clean, simple shapes and lines make for an enjoyable visual experience.”Or, “I like that my eye is drawn to focus on the graphic art above the couch.”Could be something like, “The eye is drawn to focus on the graphic art above the couch.”Know whatta mean? The critical vocabulary is strong, though.
