UPDATE: After 6 months of repeated use, the edge that grabs the rod to keep it extended is wearing out, and wants to slip when holding something too heavy.

Use it on every hood w/strut supports

I've had a couple of strut-supported hoods that will fall after a few minutes. I've made it a practice to use this hood prop on every hood as a safety measure. This is my second prop; one stays in the toolbox and one is in the mobile service kit.

Fit Perfect

These supports fit perfect, work well, and were very low priced. The OE struts are a PAIN to remove, the top nut gives you limited access... but the replacements go on easily.

Jeep hood latches

The original latches on our 2008 Jeep Wrangler allowed the hood to vibrate like crazy. Especially when an 18 wheeler drove by. These
latches hold the hood in place. Great purchase.

"Must Have" for a JK

The stock hood latches for the newer (2007+) Jeep Wranglers are very weak, allowing the hood to rise and slam down under certain conditions. These latches certainly solved that problem! The only caveat I have is now the latches are extremely hard to latch. Hopefully they'll stretch out a bit and loosen up in the future.

At any rate, no more hood slamming when passing trucks on two lane roads.
