A Terrific Product

You just can't go wrong! This thing is so useful in so many ways! I've purchased this as a gift for MANY people, MANY times, and everyone loves it. I think it's the kind of thing you just don't think about buying until someone shows it to you, and then you're like, "Oh yeah, cool!"

Great trunk organizer.

This organizer is a great value. It provides plenty of storage and pockets. I store it in my trunk to put all of my stuff in there so that it isn't all rolling around in the trunk on every turn.

Perfect for our needs!

I purchased this organizer for my husbands trunk. He is always on the go for work and needed his equipment and gear together and with him. He was able to fit all his items in this organizer and keeps the trunk space clean and clutter free! I wish the bottom was more sturdy but other than that, it is perfect for our needs!

Great for holding all kinds of stuff

Finally ordered this organizer for my car trunk - it holds several towels, reusable grocery bags, first aid kit, binoculars, blanket, etc. It doesn't slide around and keeps the trunk very neat without stuff scattering at every turn. Love it!

Great for long trips and groceries.

I bought this before a long road trip and put it in between my children's car seats. One side for my 2 year old and the other my 4 year old. I filled it with books and toys to keep them busy. In the outer pockets I put snacks for them that I could reach during the trip. It kept things handy and organized. Also is great for minivans to put groceries in since the back. I wish it were a bit more stable, though. It is collapsible, which is why it is not as stable.

Would buy again...

We would recommend this to anyone needing to eliminate bags inside their vehicle on trips. It was easy to attach to our roof rack and the dust cover was great for keeping the duffel bag protected on the roof from bugs/rain,etc. We drove 1400+ miles and everything was still in great shape when we got to our destination. If you travel alot, I would recommend getting 2. There was room to place another one on our roof rack sitting side-by-side. Also having the duffel bag on wheels is great too. Great Product!!

This has been a great bag. It's weatherproof and the perfect size for the top/front of our Volkswagen van. We used it on a two-week road trip and it still seems like it has years worth of life in it.

Really Waterproof

Bought two of these separately after reading reviews and it worked out great. Since they were packed and covered separately I could take stuff out at a stop from one of them without unbuckling the other.

The first trip that these guys took on top of my 4-Runner was a long and wet one. We had bad downpour of rain and hail for about 6 hours on Interstate driving and medium to heavy rain on the way back from like 2:30pm one day to 8am the next. Not a drop inside the bags.

The cover, as the manufacturer has stated is only to protect the bags, not the rain itself. I would surely recommend using the cover since that would keep the bugs and other flying object, including rocks, out of the bag.
The bags are easy to store inside their original boxes when not used.

One review said they got scratches on the roof because of the bags moving around. I got a little bit one way of the trip. On the way back, I moved the side bars on the roof so the bags were snug between them and this time I had no more scratches.

The straps and buckles may not be the greatest available out there, but they work fine.

So nice, I bought it twice!

I originally bought this item before our trip to Disney World. My husband and I shared it and fit enough stuff in there to last us a week. Now we are going on a cruise in October and just bought a second one for our girls to share. Our 8 hour trip to Florida went smoothly, had a bit of rain, and our stuff was dry as a bone! And this item kills two birds with one stone...A suitcase and a car topper. I would highly recommend this item for anyone needing extra room and needing a reliable, weatherproof car roof topper.

Good enough

I've used this on a 7 hour drive; mostly packed with clothing, towels and beach items for a camping trip. The rain guard worked well - as it was tested in the rain, though difficult to get it secured around to the bottom. Next time, I would put the rain guard on first before lugging it up on the roof. I did use additional straps to keep it attached - the straps that come with it were confusing for me. I did the best I could with them, but secured with more. It's nice to be able to move it up and down as a unit from the roof - not as overwhelming as a single bigger container. Traveling as the only adult, that helps. I used it as a suitcase while in the tent - trying to cut down and multi use. This didn't work as well, as the opening made it harder to get to things on either end of it. Of course, that's using it for more than it's intended, so I can't cut the rating. I put 4 stars because of the straps. I'm glad I didn't pay anymore than I did for it, but think the value will eventually pay off. While I don't regret buying this, I'm not sure I'd buy it again.

Great & expensive bags

I originally bought 2 bags. Now I have 3. For the money, they can't be beat. I protect the top of the van with a rubber mesh I bought at a sporting goods store. I have used the bags on at least 4 trips so far, the last being a trip with my son as we sent from San Diego to Vancouver, BC, then on to Calgary, and then back to San Diego. That trip lasted 10 days.

Once the bags are removed from the vehicle, they're easy to take anywhere. OK, you may need help carrying it upstairs but these bags are actually over sized duffel bags. You can put a lot of stuff in there. I bought each bag with its own separate cover. This way you can still use only one bag with the cover just the right size. The straps are adjustable. On one trip, I didn't tie the bags down correctly (I was doing this at 3:00 a.m.) and one of the bags flew off the top and landed in the middle of a busy freeway about 50 miles north of San Diego. Luckily, all the cars avoided it and, when I saw a slight break in the traffic, I actually ran across 3 lanes, picked up the bag, re-tied it to the top of the van, and continued on the trip. That bag now has a few small holes in it but we didn't lose any of its contents. The car was going 75 mph at the time. When it rained later on on the trip, nothing got wet. That's why I purchased a third bag. One of the covers is becoming a bit thin and has torn a bit at one of the seams. No big deal, I'll simply duct tape it on the inside and outside and it should be ready for another 3 or 4 trips.

They won't last forever but what does for that price. I've seen other rooftop bags (without wheels) for more money and they're no better and far less easy to lug around. There are always the hard shell types but they're even more cumbersome to deal with and a lot more expensive.

I have been traveling the roads of America for 40 of my 58 years. In my car of course.

Even with a wife and 9-year old boy and taking them twice to Hawaii and back to NY - couldn't ask for anything better - even the price is good. The price I am now paying is better than the the price I paid over four years ago for my previous set which is now finally getting holy. My last set lasted over four years and that was for weekend trips to wash, dc, from nyc, to st louis, mo, to florence, alabama - not bad, not bad at all.....

Holds sooooo much for a family of three and as you can guess, I am the one who takes care of the luggage. These are easy to get off the top of the car and roll like a duffel bag into your hotel room.

For the top of my 7-seat explorer, I have a removable safari type rack that easily attaches to the built-in car-roof rack. Just google safari roof racks and check a few out. I paid about $125 for mine. Keeps the top of my explorer scratch free. Removable in two minutes.

Not too Bad

I purchesed the dual bag set up. It served it's purpose well. I drove from Columbus Ohio to Knoxville, TN without a problem. No rain. I purchased some light soft mats to put under the untis to prevent scatching the top of my vehicle (Saturn Outlook).

I was able to fit all of our clothes needed for a week at the lake. We have a family of 5. The cover does flake apart on the inside as others have mentioned. I will be using the untis for a Florida trip in the fall.

Overall I think the set up is nice. I recommend filling duffal bags with each individuals clothes and then loading them into these units. It's a little hard if you mix everyone's clothes in one of these bags.

I thought the bags look just a little cheaper than the picture showed them, but still not too bad. I am happy with them. And boy did it save a lot of space in my vehicle for the trip

Great Bags and They Kept Our Stuff Dry

We used two of these bags on a recent trip. Strapped them to the top of our MDX, went over 400 miles in the rain and they kept the water out. The cover drawstring should be more durable and easier to draw tight. Did not experience any of the "peeling" or "flaking" of the coating on the inside of the bag or the cover that some of the reviews I have read on other sites mention. Overall a very good product. Hard to beat the convenience of wheeling them around, they held alot, and you pack directly into them. The top flap of the bag has a built in clear plastic pocket that closes. Worked very well for holding cosmetics, shampoo, and pretty much everything else that would be in a man's shaving bag or woman's cosmetic bag. Two bags held all the clothing and linens for a family of 6 for 10 days in the cold with some room to spare. We definitely would recommend them. I would also recommend buying the bags separately as the two bag set only comes with one big cover instead of the two individual covers.

Decent, not perfect

The duffel is well made and sturdy. However, the carry handles are too short. If you expect to pull the bag and use the drag wheels, this should be of no concern to you. I found it very difficult to get the velcro handle cover to stick with the bag close to full. I imagine if the bag were full that the handles won't even touch.
I have not had the chance to verify the quality of the weather-proofing -- an entire 2 week road trip and we had NO rain. The bags did to a phenomenal job keeping out other road debris/ dirt/ bugs.
