Cheap and cheerful
It is cheap and it is satisfactory. Easier to install than some of the others i have had, but the 'pleather' feel is not great. Looks great though!
Rating :
Great!
Easy to install! Does not slip or slide around once installed. I used this to cover up a worn steering wheel on my Cherokee. I've been using it for the last 10,000 miles without any complaints.

Just Right!
Steering wheel cover ordered and received in a timely manner. Fits perfectly on Jeep Liberty 2003 steering wheel. I am very pleased with this product and the spare wheel cover that I ordered.
One suggestion: combine shipping on multiple items, but otherwise all just right!

A Nice Touch
The steering wheel looks so much more sharper with the Jeep logo on the sides! It was fairly easy to attach and add a better grip when driving. I'm sure it will protect the original cover and add a touch of class to the interior of the vehicle.

Customer Review :
They look good but....
While these seat covers look good the quality is not what I would expect for a Jeep. Within a couple of days after I installed them on my seats the plastic that holds the cover between the back and bottom of the seat ripped. Now the cover is moving freely on the bottom. It stays on the seat but it moves and does not fit snug anymore. They do look nice from the top though.

difficult installation and inferior gromets
I purchased these for my 97 Jeep Wrangler. The gromets on the underside flap provided for securing a tight fit pulled out and fell out during installation prep, and then the plastic flap where the gromets were suppose to be tore away from the seat and made installation a pain. I finally put several layers of duct tape on both sides of the flap and punched a hole through so they would not tear further and to accomodate the elastic retaining straps. These elastic loop straps were then to be used to connect the front of the seat cover to ther rear to ensure a snug fit, but they were too short, were flimsey, and began to tear also. So I finally connected the front of the seat cover to the rear with bungee cords and at least, for the time being, they are staying in place. Redesign of the retaining flap, the gromet installation and the length/strength of the elastic connecting loops needs to occur.

Seller needs a better description
I purchased this pair of seat covers with the expectations that they would fit. However, when I went to install them on my Jeep they were too small. I requested through e-mail to return them because I was not satisfied and found out only then that they do not fit Jeep Wranglers 2003 and up (I have a 2004 Jeep Wrangler). The seats in those models are too tall and too wide for these covers to fit correctly. The seller needs to address this in the "Product Features" because you will be wasting your time and money if you purchase them. It cost me $20 to return them and they charge a 20% restocking fee. Therefore you (and I)will have wasted $28 on nothing. I am still waiting on a refund of some sort and will update this review when I receive more information from the seller.
(For the Seller: I must warn others before they buy this product so that they do not throw away their money as well. In this economy, every dollar counts. Please update your "Product Features".)
Update: I have received my refund and they did not charge me the re-stocking fee. Unfortunately I have to live with the $20 return shipment fee but that is OK because I have learned a valuable lesson here...always double check the product description/features by sending an e-mail to the seller in order to avoid any confusion on the product.

Rugged Ridge Clinometer with Jeep Graphic and Compass - Replaces part number: 791005, 791006
Customer Review :
Broke/stuck in less than a year
The pitch and roll never balanced perfectly, but I overlooked that until the compass stuck.
Rating :
OK, but don't expect too much
I bought this item from a 4 wheel drive catalogue and was a bit disappointed when I opened the package. There were no dimensions in the listing that I ordered it from and was expecting the unit to be a little bigger than it is.
It does seem to accurately show pitch and roll and the mechanism is OK if a little sticky, which is to be expected on an inexpensive unit.(sticky internals means that subtle changes don't show on the display until the unit swings to correct it. If you don't already know what I mean, just picture the gauges moving with 3-5 degree precision on the unit I have. The action isn't smooth)
The clinometer isn't lighted, which may not be important to you. This model isn't advertised as lighted, so this is not a critiscism.
I would have been reasonable satisfied with this product except for one unforgivable flaw. The compass is backwards. More precisely, the magnet in the compass is backwards, but the result ends up the same. If you are facing NW, then the compass will swing to SE on the indicator. The problem is as simple as a reversed magnet, but I don't believe it can be easily fixed. Maybe this is an intermittent issue in production.
In summary, given the compass issue, I would pass on this product.

Question : jeep ? ?
how do jeeps do on gas ? just estimated ? when a jeep has a 4 cylinder MANUAL transmission
Answer:
they are OK but not really great, the 4 wheel drive and weight of a Jeep works against it. at least it is a manual as the automatic is worse. expect 20-22 mpg highway 15-17 city at best,

Question : Jeep hard to start when the engine is cold?
I have a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee. When the engine has sat for a while, it will barely turn over. This started about a week ago. After it has run for a few minutes, it will fire up like the battery is fully charged. If it sits for 10 minutes or 2 days, it starts as if the battery is dead. The battery is fairly new (about 3 months old). Any ideas as to what is wrong?
Answer:
Try charging the battery with and external charger, then starting it cold. If it works then your alternator is not charging the battery well - or your battery is not taking the charge (even on new battery).I noticed that sometimes my trips are all so short the batteries never really recover (charge). So if I charge then using external charger, I can see it take about 1 hour or more to charge them. Then the cars usually starts much faster (like 1 second instead fo 5 seconds of cranking). Then it is good for another year or so.Good Luck...

Question : What is the difference between a Jeep CJ7 and a Jeep Wrangler?
I am looking for a used Jeep Wrangler and my dad's friend says he as a Jeep CJ7 for sale. I looked online and the CJ7 looks exactly like a Wrangler to me. Is there a difference or is it the same thing or what? Please help.
Answer:
cj/7 s are older , there are alot of things that make them different, l;ike the size of them , where the turn lights are, the boxyness of the body, im not sure but i dont think they ever put fuel injection on the cj's but dont qoute me on that, the tailgates are different, im trying to put a cj/7 tailgate on my yj, up until 97 the wrangler had square headlights, just alot of stuff like that, go with a wrangler, unless you arent to picky about the ride comfort. everyone knows jeeps arent the most comfortable ride but the cj's are alot worse then the wrangler.

Question : 1988 Jeep Wrangler shuts down when key is released from start position?
I have an 88 Jeep Wrangler. When the key is turned into the start position the engine will start. As soon as the key is released into the on position the engine will shut down. Electrical power is still available. It will stay running as long as the key remains in the start position. Could this be the ignition module?I have tried swapping the ignition on the steering column with no luck. Is there another ignition switch in the system?
Answer:
Turn ign to on. Check with test light for power at the ign switch terminal that feeds ignition. Sounds as if no power getting to ignition system.

Question : What causes misfiring on a jeep grand cherokee?
I'm about to buy a jeep grand cherokee but they said it misfires when first started up but it drives perfectly fine. What could this have to do with the jeep? And how much would it be to replace what needs to be fixed? They said it might be the spark plugs.
Answer:
Misfires are tricky things, many problems can cause them. the most common is a fouled spark plug. although a bad coil or plug wire could be the culprit too. A bad or clogged injector is another simple fix. I could also be something more complicated and labor intensive, like a bad valve or cracked piston. I've seen all of these cause a misfire.

Question : What Hawaiian islands should we rent a Jeep on?
My finance and I are going to the islands of Maui, Kuai, and the big island on our honeymoon. We are planning on renting a car on all three and upgrading to a Jeep on the big island. Can we get away with not renting a car on any of the islands? What about the Jeep, should we consider a Jeep on the other islands?
Answer:
It depends on where you stay but I think you're going to want a car on all of the islands. The big island is a must, by the way.Whether you get a jeep or not is really just a preference thing. I had a jeep on Maui and we had the top off which made for interesting viewing looking up at the sky. On the Big Island there are some roads you might think a jeep would be needed, but if you read the fine print of the maps / rental agreement they basically say 'even if you have rented a Jeep, there are certain roads you are not allowed to take a rental car on'.If you just plan on staying in the hotel you might not need one on Kauai and / or Maui, but I think having one on each is probably worth it (they're pretty cheap out there).

Question : What is the difference between the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited trims?
I am wanting to get a Jeep in the next couple of weeks, but am having some trouble deciding exactly which model I'm getting. I know the difference in the 4x2s and 4x4s, I'm definitely getting the 4x4, no use in getting a 2WD Jeep, the problem is choosing between the X, Sahara, and Rubicon trims. I know the difference comes in the available upgrades, but just what are they?
Answer:
I am not sure what the X has that a regular Sport does not have. The Sahara is the upgraded version of the Sport (which is the 6cyl model). These are cosmetic upgrades - upgraded seats, power windows, cd player etc.The Rubicon is also an upgraded version of the Sport but it is an off road upgrade. The Rubicon comes with the Dana 44 rear axle (compared to the 35c on the Sport), lower gearing, more aggressive tires and a few other mods that I can't remember. So, basically if you are going to drive it on the street and never plan to take it off road I would go with the Sahara or X.If you plan to do some offroading, you might want to go with the Rubicon.

Question : How different does it feel to drive a jeep if you have been driving a car all life ?
I have had a car all my life. Now I am thinking of buying a 2000 Jeep Cherokee. What are the differences between driving a car and a truck ( Jeep). How is it different maintenance wise. I know it is easier for Jeep to get by on snow. What's the mileage like, ease of driving, comfort level etc. I shall be very grateful for any experiences.
Answer:
It'll probably strike you as a bit strange at first. My Jetta is very agile, low to the ground, zippy, and (because it's a TDI), gets amazing mileage of 46+mpg. My Laredo, on the other hand, is not quite as agile, higher off the ground so you can see the road better in snowy conditions, can be zippy, and gets about 20mpg at best. The Cherokee has a very nice ride and does real well in snow. Afterall, it IS a Jeep! As far as maintenance goes, it really depends on what you're used to. My Jetta has been virtually maintenance free. My Laredo has had a hiccup here and there, but mine is a '97, while you're looking one built on a new platform. No so easy of a comparison there. Do you want an SUV that will easily go over 100K? Yes, a Jeep can do that. My ZJ has an I6 under the hood. Those engines have gone 300K and more. Unfortunately Chrysler yanked that engine from the Jeep in the late 90s. Yes, some Jeep die hards will tell you that Chrysler has ruined the Jeep line up since they purchased it from American Motors. With the newer models out there right now, I tend to agree. Before taking the plunge and purchasing a Jeep (or any SUV), make sure you're getting one for the right reason. If you want to go off roading, need something to get you through nasty roads in the winter, then sure. Go ahead and take the plunge. But if you don't want to spend $40 - $50 or more to fill up a tank of gas, then maybe you want to look at a Honda CRV. The Cherokee will only average about 20mpg on the highway. I've heard some salesman claim they get over 25mpg. But that's simply not true. The Liberty CRD (diesel) can barely eek out 22mpg.

Question : Can a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Classic hold a full size spare on the inside back end mount?
Inside the jeep, in the back end, there is a mount for a spare tire. It has a small spare on it. Can it hold a full size?
Answer:
The mount on the inside on the drivers side, mounted below the window will hold atleast a 30x9.50x15, but have heard of people fitting 31"s but it maybe a bit snug. I dont have the complete mount so my 30" spare is laying in the rear. I plan on building a tool box around/over it so everything will be concealled and secured.

Question : Is it possible to relace a jeep cherokee drive chain on NP249 with removing the transfer case?
Hello, I have a 95 jeep grand cherokee with an NP249 "quadra-trak" transfer case. Is it possible to access and replace the drive chain without removing the case from the Jeep? I can't pull the extension housing off because it is held in place by a locking ring which I doubt I can access while it is still on the vechicle. Thanks!
Answer:
No!
