Inexpensive little starter ATV
Purchased two of these back at Christmas for my two oldest kids. Warrenty is very limited so use them a lot in the first 60 days to make sure they work. Had the CDI go out on one of the units in the first week and another go out a few months later. Purchased 6 extras for $5 each so I don't have the same problem again. Takes about 30 seconds to switch it out so it is an easy fix once you know the symptoms. These obviously are made in China (nearly all these 110s are actually made in the same factory no matter what the brand) not Japan. The motors are relatively simple and easy to work on. I have changed the oil and spark plugs and they work great. You should also plan on tightening up the chain when you get it. The manual is some of the worst English I have ever seen so just look at the pictures if you have questions. Parts are very easy to obtain and very inexpensive as you would expect. I tested these out several times before I let the kids ride them and my kids wear full protective gear (chest plate, helmet, goggles, and gloves.) I also ride them around for the first minute or two when they are warming up to make sure nothing has gone wrong prior to the kids riding them. Only other problem is that the design of the drive shaft loosens the chain when someone 150lbs or above rides it. So if you hit a big bump you may lose the chain. Again this is easy to put on and I keep it very tight now so that when a rider is on it the chain is perfectly tight. My kids are light weight so they never come close to having the chain come off. I on the other hand have had it happen a couple of times. Anyway, as long as you know what you are getting yourself into they are wonderful. It you have no mechanical ability stick to a well build Honda.

I have been looking into survival and bug out gear on the internet and youtube videos. They say 4X4 vehicles with diesel engines are the best for bugout vehicles. What vehicle would you choose?

I'm not a vehicle expert but i do know a little about emergency preparedness. I get the the Newsletter from FrontierSurvival.com and they had a little info in the last one about bugging out. Here is a quote from the them on bug out transportation"Transportation: You may also want to keep your car's tank at least half full, since gas pumps may not work if there's no electric power. By the time you reach a gas station, you may be likely to find it sold out - or charging exorbitant prices, because the owners know you didn't have any choice but to pay what they ask. Much better to leave with a full tank of gas, and enough in spare containers to fill up on the road, if you have to, in order to reach your destination. And remember a big vehicle can be a handicap. It's not a bad idea to have smaller, more maneuverable vehicles, and a smaller travel trailer, so that one can "squeeze through" in a tight traffic situation. Another point a big SUV or pickup burns a lot of fuel. This is bad news when there's no fuel available!"

I was wondering how many different vehicles require a license or certification to operate it. Such as, drivers license. Question : Are larger vehicles more difficult for beginning drivers to drive?
My husband has found a full-sized chevy bronco that he wants to buy for our son for his first vehicle. I like the safety aspect, but I feel that a teen driving a huge vehicle is more likely to have an accident due to inexperience. I personally have always found huge vehicles intimidating and more difficult to judge distances but my husband disagrees and does not see any difference. Anyone have any information on the subject?

I like driving a small sedan (Honda Civic) because easy to park, easy to turn, low cost to maintain. I have been driving automatic transmission now for decades.Sometimes in a distant city I need to rent a car.I am no longer able to drive stick shift.My reflexes are attuned to the smaller car ... I have a real hard time how much space to allow for cornering, what's needed for turning, backing up etc.For a new driver, I think a mid sized car is probably better for long term driving skills. Your son can go with a more compact car once he has picked up the basic skills.You might also look at the insurance costs. There are reasons why some cars have big differences in rates. Some are due to peer pressure on kids if they are in sporty cars.Some are due to certain models being targets of car thieves.But some are due to safety statistics.Your insurance agent can advise you on which cars are safest for new drivers, and how come that is.

Many vehicles, including parcel delivery trucks use my driveway to make three-point u turns. I live on a residential street. The street is narrow and vehicles take advantage of my driveway, which is wider than those of my neighbors. How can I discourage this behavior? your driveway is your property.leave your car on the end of the drive to stop the trucks.you might want to speak to your council about getting signs at the end of the street saying "unsuitable for large vehicles" or even making the street one way.

Question : Oxygen sensors on newer vehicles; how often should a change should they be changed?
I have 1987 Dodge 1/2 ton pick-up and a 1991 Ramcharger. They both run really well. I have them maintained as best as I can. There is the 318ci engine in both vehicles. One has a carburator and the other has a throttle body injection system.

on really new vehicles most don't recommend until after 100,000 miles or until they fail. on older vehicles probably 30,000 miles because their emissions systems aren't as advanced they foul up sooner.
