Customer Review :
automobile scratch repair
My only problem with using this was doing so at the right temperature. I used the pen in the garage and then made an effort to keep the car outside and in the sun as much as possible all afternoon. It got up to 70 that day - which is unusual in my area at this time of year. the mark pretty was pretty well concealed except for a couple of deeper places. I plan to go over it again when I know we will have warmth and sunshine - which is needed for the chemistry reaction of the stuff to work.
Pretty cool for a temporary fix and sure a lot cheaper than going to a body shop!

Stay Away!
This product is a rip off stay away it does not work.
Followed the directions and the product actually made the scratch look worse. Save your money!

Don't expect Miracles...But it does an acceptable job!
Someone hit my driver/rear doors with a shopping cart. It left a nice set of scratches along both doors. I used a rubbing compound to remove the wax around the area before using the Fix It Pro. Follow the directions and it does work to "minimize" the scratch. It doesn't completely remove the scratch, but it makes it less "noticeable". One reviewer recommended several applications over a 2 days period, which worked great. Again, it won't completely remove the scratch damage, but it made it acceptable to me. Car: 2003 Silver Jetta.

SIMONIZ fIX IT PRO, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY IT DOES NOT WORK
This product does NOT work and is not worth the money, you can clearly see the scratch after properly applying the "FIX IT". DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY~! In addition, if you order on their web site, BE CAREFUL because they offer you so many other items if you click something by mistake it will cost you allot of money. They send free vacuums and charge you $15/to ship each one. You can purchase this same exact product at Bed, Bath and Beyond with NO SHIPPING cost and you can use a 20% off coupon and after it does NOT work, you can return it. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY...

Why is Amazon.com selling this product?
I have long been an Amazon customer. 99% of the time, the products have been great. The customer service at Amazon has also been a joy to deal with. I saw Fix It on Amazon and was going to purchase it. I went to a very well known search engine and searched out the complaints regarding this scratch fixer. The complaints were numerous. The main theme being, "this does NOT work". I reconsidered my plan to buy this from Amazon due to the comments I discovered about this product. I can't help but wonder why Amazon is selling this item to their loyal customers? Rest assured, from now on, I will thoroughly research any & all products before I purchase them from Amazon. For some crazy reason, I was under the assumption, Amazon would NOT sell me an inferior product. As the saying goes, "live and learn".

Customer Review :
Great product... a little overpriced
Paid more than what I would have at a local hardware store... guess I should have shopped around a bit more.
Rating :
Pennies more than my local store and ACTUALLY IN STOCK.
This and a specific German made variant of Castrol are the only oils I use in my VW, due to strict requirements listed by the manufacturer.
Unfortunately, due to where I live, I often have a hard time finding oils that meet the VW 502 requirements locally. The auto stores nearby price out six quarts of Mobil 1 for a few pennies cheaper, but it is always hit or miss as to whether they actually have any available or on order.
Amazon delivers this rather fast. Great for those months when it could be weeks before I could see the product locally.
Rating :
mobil do they make royal purple???
Mobil makes many other oils but the Synthetic 0-40 covers the best specs of all engines for almost all climates. I drive a audi TT turbo high performance car I have always used Valv. and it is a good oil but this can take the punishment I give the engine and bottom line if you think it works that is all that counts.
Rating :
Mobil 1 (0W-40) is the best!
I use this in my Crossfire and in my Jeep Cherokee. I've let the Jeep go 10k between changes and the oil I take out is no where near looking bad, worn, or black. I would recommend this oil to anyone and for any vehicle.
Rating :
Great product - fast delivery
I must say that this was the fastest 'standard' delivery of a product I have ever experienced. It was at my door in two days after ordering. Thanks Amazon. I have used Mobil 1 synthetic in my cars and motorcycles for years and it has always performed well. It took some getting used to not changing my oil every 3k miles as in the 'old days' with the dino oil. Being assured I can run it longer in my vehicles AND wanting the extra value due to the high cost of Mobil 1 I started changing it out about every 7-10k miles. That has worked for me over the years and I never noticed any additional wear or oil burning. I use 15W-50 in my Valkyrie MC, just started using 0W-30 (was using 5W-30) in the Mitsubishi Lancer, and 0W-40 European grade in the Mercedes SLK 320. I just hope Mobil 1 stays with a fully synthetic base unlike some others that use a mixture of mineral oil and synthetic and legally call it 'fully synthetic' as I'm learning more about this practice....

VHT SP999 Translucent Black Nite Shades is a transparent black tail light lens coating for creating custom European styling. Customer Review :
amazing at smoking taillights!!
this stuff works great and is easy to use! even after my first coat it was already dark!
Rating :
Excellent Product
VHT Night-Shades paint is an excellent product for those who want to get that expensive blackened tail light look for cheap. This product is also great for those of us who want that look, but can't find any dealers who make tail light covers for our year and make of autos. Using two light coats of this paint gets a nice, full coverage, and lets the maximum amount of light through when applying the brakes. Because you don't have to use a ton of this paint to get coverage, you can easily do 4-5 cars worth of lights per can of paint. Compairing $13 per can to $35 for covers, and even up to $250 for a full tail light assembly, how can you go wrong?
Rating :
Great product (for those who are not lazy)
The results i got using this product were phenomenal. If you take the time to sand, apply multiple light coats and clear coat, this looks like somethingthat you get straight out of the factory, except the fact that you can chose the darkness you want.
Rating :
AWESOME!!!
I had my buddy paint my tail lights with this spray, and this product is amazing, no blemishes, its all one solid color. Looks like regular ol' black paint but once you put on the lights, step on brake or put it in reverse, it shines through perfectly and is still very bright.!!!!

Stabil
I have used Stabil in the gas tanks of my cruiser and outboard for a number of years over the winter months when the boats are used less frequently. I keep the fuel tanks full of fuel to avoid moisture and Stabil to keep the fuel fresher than it would be other wise. I think it works for the engines always start and run well everything else being equal.

Sta-Bil Size
I'm already familiar with the product, but I liked the size it came in and the price was satisfactory, the transaction was effortless, and the delivery was on time.
Rating :
Outstanding Product
33 years ago I moved to 3 acres, and had a whole set of gas engines to look after (mower, string mower, chain saws, rototiller, etc). No matter what I tried, more than half of them had to go in once a year to clean and adjust the carburetor before they would run after winter storage. I complained so loudly to the shop that worked on them, that the owner introduced me to Sta-bil... and I called the company and ordered a case (couldn't find it in the stores then)... even talked with the inventor (a trained chemist). I use it by always adding a small amount (less than recommended) to every fuel can when it's filled, and a bit more to any gas tank that may remain unused for a while (like a mower in the winter). The only other thing I started doing religiously was to fill every gas tank through a filtered funnel (fine screen or felt). In the intervening 33 years, I've never had to rebuild another carburetor... and extraordinary result. Unlike most gas additives, this stuff works. Gums, glues condensates all have vanished... I still have four chain saws, two mowers, and other equipment used seasonally, and my biggest maintenance problem has vanished. The inventor has retired, and sold to a group of investors, but as far as I can tell, the product is of the same quality.
Rating :
great for infrequent drivers
I seldom use my car (great public transit here). I only fill the gas tank 3-4 times a year. Gas goes bad (loses octane) after 30-60 days, I'm told, which in turn gunks up your engine because it doesn't all burn as well as it should. This supposedly stabilizes the gas. Products like these were, I believe, originally invented for tractors, mowers, boats and other vehicles that are seasonally used, but is great for regular cars as well. Amazon's price and shipping are, as always, fantastic.

Editorial Review :
J-B Weld is a remarkably easy, convenient and inexpensive alternative to welding, soldering and brazing. J-B Weld will bond to virtually any clean, dry surface including: iron, steel, copper, aluminum, brass, bronze, pewter, porcelain, ceramic, marble, glass, concrete, fiberglass, wood, some plastics, and many more.
Customer Review :
Every handyman should have this in his toolbox
I've been using regular epoxy for years, and I can't believe I haven't tried JB Weld sooner. The addition of iron filings greatly increase it's toughness over regular epoxy. I broke the plastic keychain loop on my USB memory stick. I repaired it by JB Welding a metal loop fashioned from piano wire in it's place. I rebuilt cracked plastic standoffs in various portable electronics like a laptop and some bike lights using plastic drinking straws to serve as molds - drill and tap for screw holes after it cures. I glued aluminum wires to a small LED heatsink to make the LED run cooler (see my review of Planet Bike Super Spot). The iron filings are not as thermally conductive as silver or copper filings, but better than ceramics like alumina or zinc oxide. They could sell the stuff as "Arctic Iron", but that might be a trademark infringement :).
Several reviewers had JB Weld fail on them. JB Weld may be really good epoxy, but it's still just an epoxy. The key to a permanent repair is preparation and correct application. All surfaces must be sanded to roughen them up and remove any shinyness. Then they must be cleaned with a solvent like acetone to remove any oil or water which will interfere with the bond. Parts which experience extreme pressure and temperature may require additional reinforcement, for example if you repair a crack in a radiator, it's a good idea to also use fiberglass cloth, and build up a patch in several layers (at least two layers of fiberglass).
Rating :
Works on granite!!
I bought this because a glue line on my granite counter top gave way and dropped a chunk on the floor. I mixed the two components directly on the surface to be glued. It got tacky immediately but didn't set up until after I fiddled with the placement and set up my clamp (a truck tie down). I took the clamp off 24 hours later and it seems to have stuck rock solid. Also nice was that I was able to clean up the ooze round the join with a damp paper towel. The glue dries black so for something like this you need to make sure the parts fit with little seam and the cleanup is thorough and prompt. Did the job well for not much money and you can get it in most hardware stores.
Rating :
apply it correctly
and this is great stuff. some pointers Epoxy glues have a limited shelf life. Buy yours at a small store where the merchandise doesn't move quickly, or keep it 5 years on the shelf and it won't work well. Don't apply it at temperatures below 60 degrees. Spend at least 2 or 3 minutes mixing it. I use a timer to be sure. Surface preparation is the key. It must be completely grease free. I use naptha (lighter fluid) alcohol, and acetone in that order. The surface MUST be rough. I use a file, very rough (#40 or #60) sandpaper or a sharp Exacto blade to make multiple cross hatch cuts- this will even work on most steels. Apply the mix carefully, put the pieces together so they don't move for at least 8 hours. Do all that and the bond is very strong.
Rating :
Works very well...give it time to harden
Directions indicate 15 hours dry time, but maybe that is with an exact mix of materials. I just squeeze out what is 'about' half and half and then mix. At 15 hours, JB Weld still seems a bit pliable sometimes. 24 hours and it is always rock hard. Have a little patience.
Rating :
Works on Toilets
I had a very small drip in the bottom of my toilet and I noticed a small crack around one of the bolts. After reading several how-to reviews on different websites, I decided to give this a shot before tossing the toilet. So far, so good! The epoxy was very easy to mix and relatively easy to apply. I let it dry for a day before sanding it down and now there's no more leak on that bolt.

Questions & Answers
Question : 1998 Mazda 626 Issues?
312 000km on car, 200 000 km on motor, 2.0 Liter 5 Speed.Issue 1: Gas tank (plastic) is leaking at the top, strong odor when full. Does not leak when on flat ground, but steep hills and jerky driving cause it to leak until about 3/4 full.Issue 2: Common with older engines, the bottom half is moist with oil (not yet dripping), not coming head gasket or oil pan. What can it be and how do I help it?Issue 3: Just yesterday I noticed my amp amplifying engine and turn signal static. I think my deck is a pioneer DEH-1900MP and I am using the RCA cables on the back to signal the sub. When unpluged from the back of the deck all the noise is gone. I assume it is a ground issue in the stereo?I change my oil and filter regularly with full synthetic.None of my fluids leak (but gas) and it does not burn oil. Feel free to share any helpful mazda hints.I use to have a 1993 with over 500 000km on it, all original. I put a hard 50 000km on it before it let me down. I sold it, but it only cost $150 to get it back on the road. YAY Mazda!
Answer:
This model Mazda 626 is notorious for transmission problems...That many miles on it already I'd probably sell it while the tranny is still shifting...........I had one and my mother had one same problems on both bad transmissions......

Question : Should I do the trade?
Okay, heres the deal, I am thinking about trading my car. I put it up on craigslist and have been talking to and met someone about trading it with them. So here are the stats....I have:A 2000 Acura Integra GS 2dr automaticPower everything, sunroof/moonroof everything works NOTHiNG WRONG WITH iT (just took it to get everything inspected again yesterday to make sure)Brand new brakes (pads and rotors), just had tranny fluid flushed and replaced, new timing belt, and brand new FlowMaster SS Custom muffler ALL done just under a month ago as well as a couple other small upgrades. And just had oil changed, tires rotated 2weeks ago. Also has aftermarket JVC CD player, full Rockford Fosgate system and wiring (12"P2 subs and 400watt 2channel amp) I also had installed a very precise custom cop alarm w/LCD screen remote that cost me $500. I've put alot of money into this car within the last couple months alone. He is offering to trade....A 1998 Cherry Red Mustang White top Convertible V6 Automatic(not a GT V8 :( if it was I wouldn't need to ask this question Id do it!! LoL)Everything works, nothing wrong with it cosmetically besides one of the front light covers is missing. He said nothing was wrong with it performance wise that he knows of, I took it for a test drive, the only thing is I think it has a warped rotor or something along those lines because it shakes when you hit the brakes. But thats the only thing I found wrong with it so far, I want to take it to a mechanic for inspection just in case before anything is final anyways.Everything in it is stock (it is very quiet :( im used to my flow now haha) He had oil changed 2000 miles ago as well. He hasn't really done any upgrades or work to it for a while. He said he did get new brake pads and rotors when he bought it 2 years ago. Thats all I really know about the car at this time. Oh, and when I went to drive it, the shifter was a little weird (it worked fine just seemed "heavy" maybe thats normal, I might just be too used to my car.)So, my question is, should I go for the trade, is it worth it on my part or would I be losing out on more than I should, or would he be losing out? Im not sure what to do, I like his car a lot cosmetically, kinda weird to drive though because Im so used to my really small ac. The handling in it isn't as precise as mine is, but thats just the car itself and my beings used to what I am.What should I do?! And ALSO again, I am not including my system with the trade because he doesn't have an quivilant system which was part of my deal in the first place. I told him Id want to take my JCV cd player as well as his is stock and I need the hookup. If anybody reading this knows alot about mustangs, do you think my 12" subs in a custom box (not exactly sure of measurements) would fit in his trunk, it is very tiny compared to my hatchback lolHere are pics of my car....http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=28385809&album Id=2740722No pics of his..Thanks!!
Answer:
According to auto trader in my area, your Acura is worth from $9000 to $13000 depending on mileage and condition. The Mustang is worth from $6500 to $11000. Your geographical location will be different price ranges, I am sure, but mostly what this is saying is your car is worth more. Unless you just have to have a convertible, I'd probably stick with yours.

So here are the stats....I have:A 2000 Acura Integra GS 2dr automaticPower everything, sunroof/moonroof everything works. Answer:
The shaking when hitting the brakes would be my biggest concern. Could be the result of an accident. Ask to see the title to the car and see if it states "salvage" or "rebuilt". If it does, stay away from it. Run a carfax on it if you can.

Question : 94 civic ex swap stopped running?
i just put a d16z6 in my 94 civic ex and i was pulling out of a light and was going fine then going into 2nd gear it was fine but then started bouncing around and slowed down. i threw it in first and tryed taking off again and still bounced around then it completely died on me and i rolled into the grass. it said low battery and i have a broken terminal but my amp and windows still worked good. it also says the oil is low. so i checked the oil and it is low so i put a little in there and it sounds like it wants to start and has compression but wont fire up. i sprayed starting fluid in it and still wont start. i was thinking it could be my fuel pump but my check engine light isnt on. could i have a blown ecu fuse???? what else could it be?? oh and there isnt any oil in my radiator its all antifreeze
Answer:
I bet your cam timing jumped.
