good stuff

not too much of work as others put it. A Must have if you use their filter. One thing the instruction said at the end that both clean and dirty sides show red evenly. I dont think you would get red to show up evenly on the clean side while you only apply oil to the dirty side, unless you risk over-oil it. With the amount of recommended oil, probably can only get 20% of clean side to show up red.

got to have it for K&N filters

I've had this kit before. The most difficult part of using it, is recoating the filter with oil, using squeeze bottle. I plan on trying to use a small atomizer spray bottle to apply it, when the time comes. You're trying to apply a light coat to the entire filter evenly. Maybe it could even be brushed on from a small disposable container.

Best gadget for the best price

On the strength of very positive reviews in the Casita Travel Trailer forum, I bought one of these gadgets for the Christmas stocking of all the guys in my family. At $12,26 it is very affordable and simply works. Plug it into your 12V socket and turn on the ignition. It will instantly tell you the status of your battery. Start the engine and it will instantly tell you the status of your charging system. For boats, RVs, any vehicle where you need to carefully monitor your electrical system, this is the ticket.

Great Product

THis is my 2nd one of the Equus 3721 battery monitor. I have several vehicles that set for long periods of time. This device helps me monitor both battery and Alternator condition. very bright lights. easy to read LED from multiple angles (glance through the window as I walk by vehicle). Also unlike another brand I won't name this one seems to put little to no load on the battery.
very happy with it. I have used various monitoring devices for more that 25 years that plug into lighter socket - a little experience with these.

Inaccurate

The LCD panel is bright and legible. The LED lights provide a quick overview. The unit correctly identifies the monitoring mode, battery vs. charging. I personally found the 2-decimal place voltage reading unnecessary and distracting while driving.

I suspect the voltage reading is not totally accurate; one of my cars has a brand new charging system and battery, 6 months since they were installed and less than 2500 miles in usage, but the battery voltage reading tethers 12.3v. I get the same reading on my other car as well. I hooked up both cars to a battery tender and with the tender in floating mode (indicating the battery is basically fully charged) the voltage reading still doesn't exceed 12.4v and the battery icon shows the batteries about half charged. I believe a few other people have reported a similar problem with the battery icon.

Easy to Use - Easy to Read

There's a car mechanic who already posted a "most useful" review of this product, and I really cannot add much to his excellent review other than to say that I did much of the same research he did and can completely confirm everything he said.

With one exception - I have not yet bought the rubber gauge cover he recommends to provide a little extra protection in case I drop it, but I am literally going to do that as soon as I finish writing this review.

Between my wife, myself, and my kids, we now have three cars sitting outside, and I check the tire pressure in all three vehicles regularly. This gauge is quick and easy to use - it forms an accurate seal with the valve stem, and gives an accurate, easy-to-decipher reading, without me having to put on my reading glasses to see it.

The best feature is when I am adding air to a tire with one of those service station hoses that doesn't have a gauge. If I inadvertently overfill the tire by a few pounds, I can seat the gauge on the valve stem, and use the bleeder valve that is part of the gauge to accurately lower the tire pressure to precisely where I want it to be, because I can watch the gauge drop while I'm letting the air out bit by bit. (BTW, I tend to run my tires at 35 psi, not 32 psi, for better gas mileage)

All in all, I think it is worth the extra money to get an accurate tire pressure gauge, as this tool is well built and I know I'll have it for years to come.

Well, out of the box (almost) anything will be good. Real review have to be in a year or so. I hope it will last, I bought that rubber boot for it. Did a quick test, was impressed how fast the needle jumps (before this I went through 3 digital gauges - all broken now) those take MUCH longer.

Very accurate gauge

This is a very accurate tire pressure gauge. It would have gotten 5 stars if it held the tire pressure reading after removing it from the tire but it does not. It also should have come with the optional rubber cover for protection. The body of the gauge is a light weight metal that needs the rubber protector.

I was tired of seemingly disposable tire pressure gauges. I now keep this one in my truck and have confidence when I check my tires. Easy to use and easy to read. I recommend this for the most satisfying tire pressure checking of your life.

Nice Gauge - Easy to Use

This gauge seems to be well made and easy to use. At 30 psi, it is within 0.5 psi of my digital gauge, matching what at least one other reviewer reported.

PROS:
- The bleed valve makes it easy to fine tune tire pressures.
- The hose and valve attachment fitting are sturdy and work well.
- As others have reported, the valve attachment fitting seals to the valve stem easily.
- The hose is long enough to move the gauge dial to an easy-to-read position.
- The large black-on-white dial is easy to read even in the darker corners of my garage.
- The price seems reasonable for the quality of the product even after adding the cost of the protective rubber.

CONS:
- As others have indicated, the gauge case material seems a bit light and not as sturdy as the rest of the unit. Only time will tell if this causes problems with the gauge's function and durability.
- The rubber protection piece, available separately at additional cost, should be standard.
- The protective rubber should cover the back of the case.

In my review of the rubber protective piece, I dinged it one star for the cons listed above so I'm not ding the gauge also. Looking at the gauge as a two piece purchase with "some assembly required," I give it 5 stars and would recommend it to anyone looking for a tire gauge in this class.

Excellent delivery time

this is the exact product that i wanted, and it was delivered in only "1" day!
i only gave it 4 stars because if i would have shopped around, i would have been able to get it for much less money due to the shipping costs which i didnt notice/realize untill after the order was submitted ($7.63 to have it shipped versus about $0.60 for my local sales tax if i would have bought it locally).
but not having to drive out and buy it, and it being delivered the next day, i wont complain :)

Great kit

I've been using it for years on auto filters as well as my motorcycle which has an OEM non-disposable filter. It takes very little spray and will last forever. The cleaning process is simple and only takes a few minutes. The kit costs less than most replacements so it should be an easy decision for any reusable filter, even if it's not a K&N.

Not bad; product looks to perform as promised (just completed a long road trip for Thanksgiving....no breakdowns yet).

One thing to note....wear good eye protection (you might want to consider safety goggles, not just safety glasses) when using that aerosol mist (the oil, too, probably, but I didn't notice the problem so much with the oil). I was soaking my filter outside on a breezy day, spraying the aerosol onto the filter. The mist (and I'm not talking about much more than a few mist-drops) from this stuff got in my eyes. NOT COOL. This is why the product doesn't get five stars; they tell you about the eye hazard, but I don't think they do enough to highlight it in light of how much it burns to get so little into your eyes. I'd recommend nitrile safety gloves too.

A must for the gauge

This rubber cover is a must if you want to protect your tire pressure gauge. As others have said it should be a part of the gauge and not an add-on. The gauge itself is a light medal that needs this protector. It goes on quite easily and you do not have to take the gauge apart to put on the protector as the instruction says. Just slip it on. It took all of one minute.

Good product--with one small catch

The gauge and the gauge cover seem to be of good quality. There's only one glitch: getting the cover onto the gauge presents something of a conundrum. It seems you have to take the gauge apart in order to get the cover onto it. Being reluctant to take vice grips and brute force to the connectors on the gauge, I opted instead to split the gauge cover so as to maneuver it around the stem on the gauge. It shouldn't be necessary to do this, and I dislike having compromised the cover by cutting it. Nevertheless, it is all working very well.

Seems to do what it says and in that sense it would get 5 stars. But I agree with the other reviewer(s) that it should be part of the gauge itself, not an extra cost option -- minus 1 star.

It appears to offer the most protection for the edges of the gauge and less for the front and back. Thus, it is intended to offer protection against occasional drops, but not so much against scratches, dents, etc, from other tools in a tool box.

Installation is easy: remove the hose from the gauge, spray a LITTLE silicon inside the cover, work the two together, and re-attach the hose.
