Since the 1960s, Brembo has concentrated all its effort and expertise into becoming one of the leading global suppliers of braking systems. Brembo's quality high-carbon rotors are used for numerous vehicle applications. Highlighting Brembo's commitment to technology and quality, these high-carbon brake rotors have the ability to better dampen vibration and noise, thus improving comfort and, ultimately, performance. This can be used with metallic or semi-metallic pads.

Customer Review :

excellent rotors!

I recently purchased these rotors for my Accord and couldn't be happier. I had issues with my stock rotors and the so called warping. I know the rotors don't actually warp but that's the terminology everyone applies to the issue so it's just easier to use that term.

Anyway, the rotors were paired up with some pads from Oreilly's and they've done an excellent job. They have the same bite as the stock setup but without the weird vibrations and jolting that accompany the warped rotors.

I have used brembo rotors on one of my previous vehicles and they were excellet in that application as well. I will definitely buy them again when needed!

Wow, what a difference

I put these on the front of my 2002 Honda Odyssey because the original equipment had warped severely. I live in hilly country (upstate NY) and have had problems with all my cars after two years or less. Maybe I ride the brakes too much going down Winchell Mountain, but whatever the problem, these rotors have been in use for 1 full year and I have not a bit of wobble when I brake...NONE. That is a great gain.
After I took the wobble out of the front wheels, I found it necessary to do the the rear wheels. I used Brembo Rotors for those too.

Does not fit Honda LX 2003 4D 4 cylinder

It took a while to get the appropriate info on the compatibility for these rotors for my Honda. Amazon's website said they fit, it took a while for amazon CS to say they fit with semi-metallic pads and when I went to install them, they turned out to be too big compared with the OEM specifications. I have a Honda Accord LX 4D 4 cylinder, SULEV and these do not fit. They are about 1 inch to big. The good news is that Amazon is willing to take them back. Their CS support and integrity is why I keep shoping amazon!

Awesome pads

With so many pads out there, it is really hard to find a good product. So far this is my favorite for my 04 Acura TL w/ Brembo front brakes. They have a solid grab every time I brake from new to now as I am nearing replacement time. I really having seen an decline in friction. The brakes are very smooth and not the least bit grabby or jumpy. The smooth response gives me a much better feel and sense of control. Under sudden hard braking they do not fade and give solid sure power. Definately can say they have keep my bumper short of two cars and a deer. They are very quiet, even on my slotted rotors (Rotora), but they are mildly messy. The material cleans up better then the organic pads I had on my last car and are not nearly as dusty but you will notice the build up. It cleas off VERY easy with car soap and water. Durability was a problem on my rear pads as a piece broke off and the pad wore prematurely but the front pads have 40k and counting. I would rate my driving as "spirited" but legal ;)

HPS - High Performance Street disc brake pads are world renowned for increasing stopping power on your street legal vehicle. Increasing the performance of your vehicles braking system is easy when you choose Hawk Performance’s HPS braking compound. This unique Ferro-Carbon formula was developed for street performance using the safety and quality of Aerospace and Motorsports severe-duty friction technology. The High Performance Street compound offers a higher coefficient of friction over stock brake pads and can provide you 20-40 percent more stopping power and higher resistance to brake fade than most standard replacement pads. Less fade means you’ll have a highly durable brake pad with less brake dust.

High-performance pads that are low dust / low noise

Hawk HPS HB478F.605

These Hawk HPS pads are designed for the rear brakes on a multitude of cars, including the Solstice GXP, Sky Redline, Mazda3, Volvo C30/S40, and Cobalt SS Turbocharged.

Hawk makes several brake pads for street and racing applications. The HPS and Performance Ceramic are intended for street applications, while HP Plus, Blue, and a few other lines are intended for racing. The racing pads create a lot of dust, don't last very long, and produce a lot of noise in certain instances. Hawk is just a brand of Wellman, who makes lots of friction materials for heavy-duty applications. These are my second set of Hawk pads and Wellman's customer service is one of the best I have seen in the industry.

The Hawk pads always come with a logo sticker, high temp grease, and the pads themselves. The HPS pads are supposed to be a more performance oriented pad material compared to the ceramic. Based on a lot of feedback, the Ceramic pads actually produce more dust than the HPS but the HPS has better stopping power overall. Ceramic pads are generally designed for longevity, they have the tendency to wear down rotors in some formulations. The HPS friction materials are advertised as a Ferro-carbon material, or more commonly known as a carbon metallic compound. The benefit of this material is its ability to mitigate heat. They don't tend to play well in cold situations though.

The Hawk pads are supposed to employ the Noise Reduction System (NRS) technology that uses a lot of tiny hooks in the backing plate to retain the friction material. In the past, manufacturers relied on adhesives or rivets which can break apart. I've actually had one set of Raybestos pads break apart because rust developed in the backing plate causing the adhesive to give out.

I installed the HPS pads very easily and applied high temp grease to all the backing plate surfaces that would touch the pistons, calipers, or anchor plates. You want to do this to reduce squealing/harmonics/vibration. When people complain about brake squeal on new pads, its usually because they didn't apply the grease properly. I've never experienced heavy dusting from HPS pads in the past and they tend to perform very well at high temperatures. At cold temperatures, they don't stop nearly as well as when they're hot, but it has not bothered me at this point. Usually after the first few stops leaving a subdivision will heat them adequately.

The most important part of installing new pads is the break-in or bedding procedure. If you're re-using rotors, use some sandpaper to clean up the rotor surface. The reason is that brake pads leave a film of friction material on the rotor surface. This is what the pads rely on rubbing to stop the car, it's not supposed to rub directly into the rotor surface. The bedding procedure is typically 10 stops from 30 MPH with moderate brake pedal pressure. Allow it to cool a little but never come to a complete stop. Then perform 3 more stops from 45-50 MPH using harder brake pedal pressure. By this time you can usually smell the pads! Try to park it somewhere for 15 minutes without coming to a complete stop using the pads - usually coasting in neutral in a parking lot then letting it stop is a good way to go. This will reduce the chance of getting flat spots on the rotor which is commonly known as "warped" rotors.

The dust that comes off these pads were a very light tan color which wasn't too obvious even on chrome wheels. It is easy to clean off, just make sure to wax your wheels.

Pros: Easy to install, excellent high temperature performance, low dust, low noise

Cons: Bedding procedure can be a hassle but this applies to ALL brake pads, even OEM. The Hawk pads cost a bit more than OEM, and a lot more than cheap local brands but it is worth it. Cold temp stopping isn't that great, but they love heat.

Overall: 5/5 stars.

Question : How to flush an ABS Brake system?
I heard somewhere that an ABS brake system needs a special step in order to do. I heard that it's pressure-sensored, so that the car needs to be turned on, its brakes applied, and turned off with the brakes still applied. Does this sound right? If it is, do I have to turn it on for every brake I bleed, or can I turn it on once and bleed all four?

Answer:
You don't need to flush the brake system unless you know the fluid is contaminated.See this link:http://www.brakeandfrontend.com/Article/59198/bleeding_abs_brake_system_why_brake_fluid_and_lin es_degrade.aspx

Question : How does the hydraulic brake system in a car work?
as part of some science work i have to explain how a hydraulic brake system works

Answer:
easyest way to discribe how it woks is..its like a bike hand pump with 4 pipes going to each wheel..the pump handle is the foot brake, just replace the air in the pump with brake fluid,at the end of each pipe theres a smaller hand pump...when you push the big hand pump all other little pumps are forced open[these will be the brake calipers/cylnders...thats about that really...then youve got the brake servo,it uses a vacume from the engine[or a vac pump] to assist in the braking effort....hope this helps
