9900 Air Intake Kit
The Spectre 9900 Air Intake installed onto my Tahoe in less then half an hour. I was most impressed by its construction, and all the thought that went into its design (There was even a special bracket for the radiator hose clamp!!!). Not only does it install quickly, but it looks proffessional sitting under the hood. Well done Spectre!

Very Pleased with Spectre 9900
I intalled this intake on Sept 28 on my Sierra with a 5.3. What a difference, not as much sound wise but performance wise. I get better fuel economy, better top end. Installation was easy with very good instructions if you need them. Overall very very pleased with purchase.

Customer Review :
Amazing Product.
Great product, at a great price (For what it does). Noticed a huge difference in sound and performance. As for mpg increase, I havn't tested it out yet. It gave my truck (08' Ford F150 5.4L V8) a mean sound coupled with with my Flowmaster 40 series muffler cat-back system on a single 3 inch pipe. I will be recieving My Jet Performance chip in 2 days. We'll see how it all ties together.
Here's some advice on keeping the filter running solid. Clean that Mass Air Flow Sensor every 4-6 months with the proper cleaning spray. Can Be Found at any local parts store or on Amazon. Grab the quick dry solution.
As for Amazons shipping and customer support. Fast and Professional as always.
Enjoy the power.

K&N Cold Air Charger
I purchased the cold air intake due to the poorly designed OEM air intake system. I have noticed increased horsepower and smoother acceleration since I installed the product. I have also noticed an increase in MPG for both street and highway. I am getting about 1/2 mile more on average for street and more than a 1 mile more for highway. I have limited tools and mechanical experience, but I found the directions to be easy to follow. My only recommendation is that the directions contain specifics in what hardware to be used at each step, suck as whether to use lock washers and/or regular washers.

Very pleased
Like other K&N intake systems I have purchased, this one was just as good as the others. Installation was straightforward. On my 5.4L '08 F150, I was pleasantly surprised at the RIDICULOUS amplification of engine sound at wide-open or mostly-open throttle. The in-cabin engine noise is really, really nice. The heat shield and plastic induction tube will undoubtedly help keep intake temperatures down.

I bought this to increase mileage and acceleration. Mileage improvement was minimal. Acceleration was great. My sons love the throaty roar, when I step on it.

great product
I installed this product on my 2008 f150 in about an hour. It bolted right on, and when i turned the truck on there was no check engine light or other light on and there hasn't been since then. My truck sounds great and have seen a little improvement in gas mileage, I would recommend this to a friend. Well worth the money.

Noticable improvement
Fit great on my "05 Denali. Instructions are marginal, but easy enough for anyone with basic tool skills. Noisey at 2300 rpm, but made a performance improvement you can feel. Not sure about the mileage improvement yet, but the engine feels much freer, I'm sure mileage will increase. Well worth it at $225 for genuine K&N. Helped with towing.

Increased my MPG's by 2!
I installed the K&N 57-3050 on my 5.3 liter 2006 GMC Sierra 2WD Crew Cab. I do a lot of highway driving between GA, AL, and TN, and wanted to increase my MPG. Before I installed the K&N, I was getting around 20-20.5 MPG's highway driving at a constant speed of 70-75 MPH.
Since installing the K&N, I am now getting anywhere from 22-23 MPG's! Now this is also driving a speed of 71-75 MPH. I have noticed that by keeping my engine @ 1900 RPM or less, my gas millage dramatically improves with my Sierra.
Now don't get me wrong, but this filter can also cause more gas consumption if you have a heavy foot. If you like to accellerate quick and get up to highway speed fast, this filter will do that for ya. But the downside is that it will cause more gas consumption. Wide Open Throttle = More Air = More GAS!
Overall I am extremely pleaseed with the K&N 57-3050 AirFilter, and I would recommend it to anyone who does a lot of driving with there truck or SUV and who is looking to safe $ in highway fuel costs.

K&N Filter is easy to install
With a simple 64 piece tool kit from craftsman. I had this installed in 30 min. Give a grrr sound when you step into the engine. Love it!

My K&N air intake rocks!
This was too easy. I got a great price and the air intake kit works like a charm on my 06 Silverado. I have already hauled a bed and trailer full of almost 2 cord of wood 150 miles and still got 13 mpg. I definitely get 2-4 more mpg with the filter. No complaints, highly recommend this to anyone.

Questions & Answers
Question : Emission Control System on 2003 Chevy Malibu Classic?
I recently had my check engine light come on, but then after a few days it went off, now it is back on. So, I took it to Advance Auto Parts and used their diagnostic testing machine and it came back as Emissions Control System Leak EVAP(Large)...Does that mean I possibly might just have to replace the gas cap or is it somewhere in the hoses or the vacuum itself? If anyone could help, please do so thanks!
Answer:
Most common is the gas cap leak. I would replace that fist if that doesn't help it could be a leak in a line.

Question : What is the exhaust emission system on an 05 chevy trailblazer?
I need to know what and where the exhaust emission system is in a 2005 chevy trailblazer and is it caused from ther being to much oil.
Answer:
How does an O2 sensor work?An Oxygen sensor is a chemical generator. It is constantly making a comparison between the Oxygen inside the exhaust manifold and air outside the engine. If this comparison shows little or no Oxygen in the exhaust manifold, a voltage is generated. The output of the sensor is usually between 0 and 1.1 volts. All spark combustion engines need the proper air fuel ratio to operate correctly. For gasoline this is 14.7 parts of air to one part of fuel. When the engine has more fuel than needed, all available Oxygen is consumed in the cylinder and gasses leaving through the exhaust contain almost no Oxygen. This sends out a voltage greater than 0.45 volts. If the engine is running lean, all fuel is burned, and the extra Oxygen leaves the cylinder and flows into the exhaust. In this case, the sensor voltage goes lower than 0.45 volts. Usually the output range seen seen is 0.2 to 0.7 volts. The sensor does not begin to generate it's full output until it reaches about 600 degrees F. Prior to this time the sensor is not conductive. It is as if the circuit between the sensor and computer is not complete. The mid point is about 0.45 volts. This is neither rich nor lean. A fully warm O2 sensor *will not spend any time at 0.45 volts*. In many cars, the computer sends out a bias voltage of 0.45 through the O2 sensor wire. If the sensor is not warm, or if the circuit is not complete, the computer picks up a steady 0.45 volts. Since the computer knows this is an "illegal" value, it judges the sensor to not be ready. It remains in open loop operation, and uses all sensors except the O2 to determine fuel delivery. Any time an engine is operated in open loop, it runs somewhat rich and makes more exhaust emissions. This translates into lost power, poor fuel economy and air pollution. The O2 sensor is constantly in a state of transition between high and low voltage. Manfucturers call this crossing of the 0.45 volt mark O2 cross counts. The higher the number of O2 cross counts, the better the sensor and other parts of the computer control system are working. It is important to remember that the O2 sensor is comparing the amount of Oxygen inside and outside the engine. If the outside of the sensor should become blocked, or coated with oil, sound insulation, undercoating or antifreeze, (among other things), this comparison is not possible. What will damage an O2 sensor?Home or professional auto repairs that have used silicone gasket sealer that is not specifically labeled "Oxygen sensor safe", "Sensor safe", or something similar, if used in an area that is connected to the crankcase. This includes valve covers, oil pan, or nearly any other gasket or seal that controls engine oil. Leaded fuel will ruin the O2 sensor in a short time. If a car is running rich over a long period, the sensor may become plugged up or even destroyed. Just shorting out the sensor output wire will not usually hurt the sensor. This simply grounds the output voltage to zero. Once the wiring is repaired, the circuit operates normally. Undercoating, antifreeze or oil on the *outside* surface of the sensor can kill it. See how does an Oxygen sensor work.

Question : What wavelengths appear in the system's emission spectrum?
n = 1 = E = 0.0 eVn = 2 = E = 1.5 eVn = 3 = E = 4.0 eVWhat are the wavelengths that appear in the system's emission spectrum?
Answer:
Find the photons with wavelengths corresponding to the energy of 1.5 eV, 4.0 eV and 2.5 eV, since those are the gaps between the energy levels there.1.00 eV = 1.60 * 10^-19 Jh = 6.63 * 10^-34 m^2kg/sc = 3.00 * 10^8 m/sE = hc / λ

Question : How can I find a EVAP Emission control system leak?
My 99 ford explorer EVAP Emission control system leak (small). Most common places for the leak?I know I have a leak just need to find where it is.I will check the gas cap.
Answer:
Check your gas cap..... this is an easily overlooked component of the evaporative emission control system. Many an emissions fault has been caused by a loose gas cap or by a seal that has failed in the cap itself. Before you go the expensive route, try the cheap fixes first.
