Editorial Review :
K&N Recharger kit contains K&N air filter cleaner and air filter oil. It is a six-step maintenance system designed to recharge any K&N FilterCharger air filter. Air filter oil is used to treat foam air filter elements to increase their filtering capacity. Red filter oil helps to extend engine life and prevents dirt from entering your engine. Air filter oil boosts the performance of cars and trucks. K&N air filter cleaner is the only cleaner formulated to clean K&N FilterCharger elements. K&N air filter cleaner works to dissolve the dirt build up and old filter oil, and can be washed away with water. It is biodegradable and safe on paint, chrome, cast aluminum, plastic, rubber and vinyl when used as directed. Complete instruction is included with this kit.

K&N filter care service kit
Not bad; product looks to perform as promised (just completed a long road trip for Thanksgiving....no breakdowns yet).
One thing to note....wear good eye protection (you might want to consider safety goggles, not just safety glasses) when using that aerosol mist (the oil, too, probably, but I didn't notice the problem so much with the oil). I was soaking my filter outside on a breezy day, spraying the aerosol onto the filter. The mist (and I'm not talking about much more than a few mist-drops) from this stuff got in my eyes. NOT COOL. This is why the product doesn't get five stars; they tell you about the eye hazard, but I don't think they do enough to highlight it in light of how much it burns to get so little into your eyes. I'd recommend nitrile safety gloves too.

Helps out
Definitely helps with Gas Mileage on my 2006 Ford F150 for city and highway. Im gonna start using this every 4 months.
Rating :
Excellent
Extremely easy to use. It is perfect for any K&N air filter owner. It increases the life of your K&N air filter and helps increase the mileage and efficiency of your car and boosts horse power noticeably. Saves time and money when it comes to purchasing and renewing your car air filter.

Great kit
I've been using it for years on auto filters as well as my motorcycle which has an OEM non-disposable filter. It takes very little spray and will last forever. The cleaning process is simple and only takes a few minutes. The kit costs less than most replacements so it should be an easy decision for any reusable filter, even if it's not a K&N.

K&N Stuff
This is a great product if you have a K&N filter. Great Value for money and instructions are easy to understand.

Originally developed for demanding auto race applications, our premium oil filter is rapidly becoming a favorite among consumers for its durability and easy removal. We've changed oil filters and several of our product development technicians are sportsman class drag racers. They insisted we offer an oil filter that corrected the headaches they experienced over the years changing oil filters. We have all been there: Whether it's remembering where that disappearing canister tool is; or having oil leak all over your garage and yourself; or finally giving up and pounding a screwdriver through the filter just to get if off. Each of our automotive and marine oil filters comes with a 1 nut welded to the top of the canister so they can be easily wrenched-off with a standard tool. Our motorcycle and ATV oil filters come with a 17 mm nut. Our oil filters use resin impregnated cellulose filter media. This allows for higher flow rates while providing outstanding filtration. High filter flow rates are important in racing vehicles where heavier grade oil is used and the oil is pumped much faster than in a standard vehicle. When the engine is circulating oil at high GPM rates, the high-flow oil filter helps reduce the loss of pressure through the filtering process. To satisfy the demands of racers, our oil filter has many features over and above the requirements of most vehicles. We use thicker canister walls for extra strength and durability which reduces the risk of damage from loose rocks and debris. The heavy-duty construction will withstand higher oil pressures found only in racing environments without bursting. The drilled hole on the nut is for a safety wire attachment. Required for many types of racing, the safety wire prevents blown oil filters from falling on the track and representing a hazard to other race vehicles. This extra engineering offers peace of mind for consumers who want only the best.

K&H Oil Filter
What can I say about an oil filter? I do like what other websites say in praise and I like the hexhead screw-on device, which is really handy on our Honda Civic's filter location.
Rating :
Perfect
I haven't dissected the filter so I can't speak to the internal workings but this seems like a good quality filter. I usually used the Mobil 1 M1-110 but this one is far and away better just because of the standard wrench removal. Any 1 inch open or closed ended wrench will work. I actually had to remove the skid plate from my Frontier to get the 110 off because I couldn't find a wrench that fit the tiny little filter. Flow rate seems good, I'd stick with this one.

K&N
I've always been a fan of K&N products ever since I put a cool air intake on a 01 Dodge Ram 1500. I really couldn't get the gas mileage up but the proclaimed extra hoarse power was definitely there. I bought my wife a 05 jeep wrangler with a 4.0 liter and every time the oil gets changed the oil is cleaner. And I also put a drop air filter in it as well. And yes more hoarse power. So I recommend using K&N products for what ever car/truck you have. They are more expensive but so are vehicles.

great filter for the money
I purchase this oil filter for infiniti M45 and infiniti G35 and have used them on the civic Si, Rx-8, and nissan 95 240sx with a sr20det s14 VTC type. I keep them around because they work on a plethora of engines: honda K20/24 & J30 V6, Rx-8's rotary, Nissan S14 SR20det, VQ35/37/40, VK45, VR38DETT, mitsubishi 4b11 (evo X) and 4g63(evo 8/9/ eclipse) and many more.
The nut is a life saver in tight spaces, and especially on the new 2006+ civics Si which have a very tight and confined installation space. As for filtering i've taken an old one apart and noted the filter media is very high quality i'd say as good or maybe better than most oem filters.
I recommend it, it's a good filter just to keep around/ have since it works on just about anything my friends have.

they seem better built than stock and i cant really tell how good they are butt there air filter works better than stock so good chance these are better for your car than stock

works very well
As I expected, the engine runs slightly quieter and smoother with this K&N filter that when when using an STP or Fram oil filter. A cheap investment in the longevity of your car.

good filter - good price
Weight of this filter tells you right away that you are getting a substantial filter. The 1-inch "nut" on the end plus the painted "dot" on one side of that nut makes for easy install. In tight applications, a typical adjustable wrench allows an easy turn. The added dot allows you to easily note when you have turned the filter the required 3/4ths of a turn onto the engine. It's a small extra, but it keeps you from having to scratch an index mark onto the filter body once it contacts the engine (as a reference mark to then turn the filter the additional 3/4-ths of a turn to seat it properly).

so far so good
i was happy with the service and condition of the the filter it fit perfect we will see

Good Oil Filter
This is an excellent oil filter if you are looking to spend the extra bucks. However, I think a cheaper one that buy at the local autoparts store maybe just as good. Its up to you.

Oil filter
In my opinion not worth the price difference. I prefer to purchase Supertech filters, just as good or better at a fraction of the price.
Rating :
Great filter.
These are very good filters to use and priced right on here. Many tests show to avoid Fram but K&N are made well. The wrench off feature is ok but kind of gimmicky as most just use a standard filter wrench unless you have a close tolerance.

nice filter
I have been using k&n stuff for over 20 years. The nut on these filters can be a real time saver on some of the import cars like our infiniti g20. as far as filtration thier not quite up to hasting filters
Rating :
cheaper than local
I'm glad amazon started selling auto parts. Cheaper than local, no ship/no tax. As for this particular filters performance, well, I haven't sampled the oil and screened it analytically for decomposition. If something bogus happens in the next year I'll definitely call K&N *and* update this review.

works for G35
This model of K&N works for VQ35DE/ REV UP/ HR and VQ37HR engines as well as 1995-03 Nissan S14 and S15 type SR20DET engines (as well as a quite a few other applications). I use these for my G35 and they filter well and are a breeze to take off. While they are 3-4$ more expensive than the nissan branded filters, the nut is the reason i buy them so they are extremely easy to remove. Also it's gotten good reviews on various oil filter comparison tests.

What could be said about K&N that hasn't already been said? Wrenches on & off with ease. With this filter, I have confidence & peace of mind. I have used K&N on everything from 1/4 mile cars, to little Hondas, to heavy duty trucks & SUVs. But don't just take anyone's word for it. If you've found this product online, that means that you are smart enough to use a search engine. Read the independent analysis. Plenty of guys have taken filters apart for examination, and done oil analysis. Sure, there is no way of saying which filter is absolutely the best. And I for one do not limit myself. But K&N filters have a space in my shop right next to aFe, Mobil 1, Motorcraft, & Wix.

Protect Your Investment with the Best-K&N Filters
I want to maintain my vehicles with the very best products. K&N filters are the best! When I was younger... I thought a filter was a filter and I bought Fram or some other inexpensive brand and I thought that was good enough. I'm older and I hope much wiser do to life's experiences and the extensive research I do on everything I purchase. In most cases... you get what you pay for. I have used K&N oil and air filters in my truck, car and motorcycle for many years and would't think of changing to something less. You get a quality, well built product and when I think of all the times I ruined filter removal tools... I really apreciate the nut that is welded on the bottom of the oil filter for easy removal in tight places. My truck cost more than my first home I bought in 1972. My motorcycle cost more than a brand new Chevelle SS 396 I purchased in 1970. Protect your investments with K&N. If someone else changes your oil and air filters... buy K&N from Amazon and have your maintenance man install them!

Great filter
Great filter; seems to do a great job (every 5000 miles w/Royal Purple). MUCH easier to take off my '07 Explorer V8. Can only reach front of filter and nut makes it much easier to remove.

Top of the line.
Keeps the oil the color of oil when it comes to change time. I feel safe running it on my engine.
Rating :
Easy install
This was a super easy install and the wrench socket in the end will make for a quick and easy replacement as the location is not conducive to fitting a filter wrench up there. Excellent price when comparing around as well.

Questions & Answers
Question : How do you run a wire through the engine compartment into the main part of the car in a Jeep Grand Cherokee 97?
I'm installing subs and an amp in a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The amp needs power from the battery of the car but in order to do that you need to run the battery wire from the engine to the inside of the car and there is no hole to run it through. Has anyone ever done this before or have a simple solution?
Answer:
For the amp to receive enough power it needs to be connected to the battery. If you look at the firewall, all the way to the right (next to the master cylinder) there should be an entrance with wires already running through it. You can poke a hole through the rubber and run it straight through.

Question : i have a vauhxall astra 1.7TD izuzu engine ?
how do i put a new wire from battier to the alternator what part of the battier does it go on and alternator and what size of amp wire do i use
Answer:
Why do you need a new wire, it would help us to answer you better if we knew the problem your having. If its the main cable your referring to remove the old one and go to a shop that sells car battery's and alternators they should be able to make one like for like as the cable will need heavy duty crimps put on it and the tools required are rather expensive just to be used once.

Question : Alterntor advice please 1984 Cadillac Fleetwood Limo?
I believe that this limo has a 4.1 liter engine. I could be wrong, but since it is a limo, it has to charge two batteries. This calls for a 120 amp alternator. I need to know if I can take the alternator from a Cadillac fleetwood brougham of the same era with a 6.0 or 5.0 liter engine, and use it in my 4.1 liter limo, and how much should it cost me? Also, what is the difference between a fleetwood brougham and a fleetwood? (how can I tell one from the other, will they take the same parts, are they the same car, and is this car a Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham?)Here is a few pics of the car. Thanks so much. http://s40.photobucket.com/albums/e221/prettypatriotic/?action=view¤t=Redlimoandmisc.Mondaywee kbeforeJune033_0002side.jpghttp://s40.photobucket.com/albums/e221/prettypatriotic/?action=view&curre nt=Miscfromphone.7807040.jpghttp://s40.photobucket.com/albums/e221/prettypatriotic/?action=view&curr ent=Redlimoandmisc-1.jpg
Answer:
I suggest taking the original and having it "upgraded" at a local alternator/starter rebuild shop if one is available. I worked at one for years and we took basic alternators and replaced the stator and fields with ones that produced more amps. This was typical of cars that wanted super sounds systems or even police cars that require massive amount of voltage to power their equipment. It's the cheapest way to go from what I know and you know the alternator will fit since it's the original.

Question : Should I have to upgrade the electrical system in my Trailblazer for these amps?
I have a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer with all stock electrical parts. I have recently installed a Kenwood KAC-7204 amplifier which is 1000 watts peak 500 RMS bridged at 4 ohms. After this install anytime the system hits at all the car drops to like 400-500 rpm's. I was wondering if this is normal for this small of an amp. All I have other than this amp is a reciever. I could also put in a small amp for the door speakers which I already have. This amp draws 25 amps so it would be a 65 amp load on the electrical system total. What should I do to fix this or could it be that I have a bad alternator or battery? Also what is the output of a stock alternator for my car? I have the LTZ package and the 4.2L inline 6 cylinder engine.
Answer:
most autozones will test the alternator/charging system for free ... that will tell you output of the alternator , remember then you need to subtract needed power for headlights/heaters defrosters ect ...Likely you'll need a bigger alternator

Question : if i did and serious damage to car alternator or any other engine part?
i was using a jump N carry pro start/charger 600-12 volt Dc . 1700 peak amp car battery charger to start my car since battery was dead. what i did was place the postive clamp from charger to negative post of car battery. when i notice smoking coming from the inside of charger then a pop noise . i am sure i burned out charger but i am wondering if i did any damage to car
Answer:
Start the car if it starts and the alternator isn't charging, check the fuses. If that doesn't fix it, bring it into a shop. The fuses should blow preventing serious damage, that's why they are there.

Question : 1991 Chevy S-10 Show Truck Help?
I have a 1991 Chevy S10 2wd i'm building into a car show truck.Im reworking the body and having it custom painted,I'm putting lund hood scoops and a lund race back on it also and im putting a 1973 chevy 350 v8 4 bolt main engine in it im rebuilding the engine with all new parts painting it and chroming it out.my problem is i dont no what brand of sound system to put in it should i put a alpine kenwood what and subs and speaker and amp what brand and how many watts and stuff should i do thanks so much for any info idc how much the stuff cost like i said its gonna be a show truck but i dont want to put alot of money in a sound system when im just gonna be using it to take to car shows its really for looks really and like i said cost dosnt consern me
Answer:
Not true! Sound systems do come into play as being a new show truck rather then a 1966 car. Best bet is stay with Infinity or Alpine and get reciever with bluetooth, ipod, USB and out puts for expansion. at minimum you will want 3 amps. 1 to front, 1 to back and 1 to sub. Speakers will be best bought as componet speakers as that shows workmanship. Remember in your class you will find 5-10,000 sytems.

Question : Ford, 2000 Taurus, Engine cooling fans don't come on.. problem continues..?
So I have resorted to the shot-gun effect of replacing parts.... I replaced the Engine Temp. Switch.. that feeds the computer.. not the dash one. I also replaced what I thought was the main start relay for the fans from the fuse block under the hood up by the battery .. but the Chiltons/owners manual never says.. cooling fan relay... so I changed that one that said "fan start relay" or something to that effect ... (I used the new one as a tester to compair the others to)... so I checked each relay (the larger ones) power in & out and got it to "click" and with the continuity checker the switch to assure contact between the switch part of the relay is functioning... so far... everything seems to be working? The main 40 amp fuse is good... the duel cooling fans should be kicking on when I run the A.C. and temp gauge is on the high side... but nothing... nada... what am I missing... possibly does anyone know exactly which relay kicks these fans on... (I wiggled connections, checked fuses and kind of at a loss here.. I know it is probably something simple... but can't seem to find it...)Ideas?
Answer:
You should have two systems to activate your fans one is coolant temperature and the other turns it on with the AC. For both to fail is unusual I would check the wiring going to the fan and if you haven't yet check the fan make sure it is working. I once had a car that the wiring burned out to the fan I ended up wiring the fan to a 30 amp relay and triggered it with a ignition on source wasn't pretty but it worked. Good Luck
