These front control arm bushings improve vehicle handling, cornering, and overall control and are made of black high performance polyurethane. Question : Any tips on using JB Weld? I used it, and it broke?
First off, how much heat can it take? A weld broke on the very end of my exhaust system, the one that holds the exhaust pipe to the hanger. It was rattling really bad, so I used JB Weld, thinking it wouldn't be too hot since it was at the end of the exhaust system and I have dual exhaust. Well I waited 24 hours for it to dry, and then drove. It broke very quickly, even though I hardly hit any bumps. I did apply it kind of thin though. Should I reapply it really thick, or maybe use multiple layers of it? Or can it not take any heat at all?I know the best thing would be to have it welded, but I don't have a welder and the shop charges $40 for one weld, and I'm a little hard up for cash. What is the high-temp JB Weld called? I looked on their website but I couldn't find it.
Answer:
they make a special jb weld for high temp. i used it to fix a cracked manifold on my tractor. make sure everything is clean, use a wire brush or sandpaper. it won't stick to a dirty surface. it would be better in this case to have it tackwelded. i am not 100% sure the product i used was jb weld brand but it looked and mixed like jb weld.

Question : Street Legal custom exhaust?
In the state of Texas, is it legal to have custom exhaust with straight pipes, hangers and a universal cat. With or without a muffler? The headers have an O2 sensor. Basically, I am trying to make my own custom catback system. This will be going on a 5.0 Mustang, but I need to keep it street-legal, for the time being.
Answer:
I have been doing vehicle inspections in Texas for over 30 years and the way the laws reads concerning this is.........A universal catalytic converter is okay but if the vehicle can with more than one then they will all have to be on the vehicle.A muffler is required for the inspection. The headers are okay as long as nothing else has been removed from the vehicles emissions that can from the factory. The hangers must be mounted so that the exhaust will not rattle. Here are the rules that you need........20.15 Exhaust System. Every motor vehicle shall at all times be equipped with muffler in good working order and in constant operation. The catalytic converter will be considered as a part of the exhaust system on all vehicles prior to 1984 year model and will be inspected only visually (if present) for leakage. On 1984 and later model light truck and passenger vehicles, the catalytic converter will be checked for presence and leakage. Exhaust system is not secured to the vehicle by mounting brackets designed for exhaust systems (wire is not acceptable).Any brackets are loose, broken, or missing. There is excessive vibration of exhaust line.20.14 Exhaust Emission System. The exhaust emission system was installed by manufacturers of motor vehicles beginning with model year 1968. The inspection of the exhaust emission system will apply only to those vehicles that are equipped with such a system. The following exhaust emission systems will be inspected if installed as original equipment by the manufacturer: thermostatic air cleaner, exhaust gas recirculation system, positive crankcase ventilation system, air injection system, evaporative emission system, and/or catalytic converter/or converters. If installed as original equipment by the manufacturer, the catalytic converter will be considered a part of the exhaust emission system on all 1984 and later model vehicles. It will be inspected as a part of the exhaust system on prior to 1984 model vehicles.

Question : how to install a custom exhaust?
I need to install a new exhaust because the stock one was damaged while off-roading, and the resonator is rusted( small hole).i have basic knowledge about exhaust systems. Ok, so i want a nice sounding exhaust, i've decided on going with a Glasspack, because i love how they sound and they are different than the flowmasters everyone else uses. I want an easy and low-cost solution, so i decided to have the tail pipe come out of the side (right in front of rear wheel). I have the materials needed (pipe, clamps, glasspack, elbow, hangers). I have a couple questions:So i was wondering, how do i go about removing the stock exhaust so that i can put the new setup in. I don't have a cutting torch, so i assume a hacksaw will work fine right? Also, I was wondering whether i have to weld the system together, or if i can just clamp it. I will be cutting the old system off after the 02 sensors and the Cats, so I assume a minor leak is acceptable if i choose to clamp everything together.Vehicle is: 2000 Toyota Tundra SR5 V8
Answer:
WEAR GLASSES!I'd clamp it first, then take it to a shop to weld it up shut. There's nothing worse in the world than doing all of that work and then sounding like Sanford and Son coming down the street looking for old refrigerators. You always want to finish your work, or else it makes you feel like the effort you already did was worthless. You can use a torch, but a saws-all or hacksaw will work fine as well. WEAR GLASSES!The first time I did something like this myself, I took a rusty metal shard to the eyeball. It was tiny, but big enough to scratch my eye and keep me from opening it until they SCRAPED it out. Honest. WEAR GLASSES!

Question : Any Catback Exhausts For 2008 Scion TC?
I've been looking for a catback system for my 08' Scion TC. According to alot of the shops i've talked to. There are no Catback Systems that will fit the 08' TC's because the hangers that hold the exhaust were moved on the 08 TC's. I was told that the only way to fit the exhaust's were to cut the hangers and re-weld them so that the exhaust will fit. Should I do this? or wait for 08 exhausts to come out. Does anyone have an 08 with an aftermarket exhaust?
Answer:
companies that make cat-back exhausts for 08 tc's:1) tsudo 2) magnaflow3) megancheck out the links i posted. also, what the performance shops told you isn't totally true. i know with the megan cat-back exhaust, everything is completely bolt on. you don't need to cut anything or re-weld them. but when buying that, you need to get the cat-back and the s-pipe separately. what you could do is make your own setup, buy a midpipe, s pipe, and any kind of axleback exhaust and that should fit your tc no problem. but i honestly recommend waiting, i'm sure other companies like greddy will come out with an exhaust for the 08 and up. but for some reason, most exhausts for the tc are axlebacks (hks, tanabe, trd, ptuning, etc)

Question : How much to replace a whole exhaust system on a 98 hyundai accent?
My car is a small, 2 door sedan, hatchback, 5 speed, and very standard, but the muffler is starting to sound bad. Last summer I had a hanger put on to help fix the hole between my center pipe and end muffler, but I was told that was just a quick fix and I'd need the whole thing replaced eventually. Now it's getting loud and I know I should have it done. How much do you think the center pipe and muffler, and maybe if there is another piece, I don't know, is going to cost?
Answer:

Question : 1992 MK1 GOLF Cabrio GTI Exhaust System...Which One To Get?
I need a exhaust system to put onto my Mk1 Cab GTI, would prefer a full one and want to know what peeps would reccomend via there own experience.Dont want to break the bank either so even a mild steel sys would do the job. I would also like a 4 branch manifold but they seem to be hard to find for the GTI cab, so if anyone knows a comp selling these, it'll be well apreciated (the std tintop gti ones on ebay bout £150, but cab ones are £250 which arnt even the gti model. Has to be someone still selling these...i hope)I have a sebring backbox at the moment and tailpipes about size of a baked bean can and way to noisy for my liking (Came with Car)...Did notice on closer inspection, its from a tintop GTI so doesnt use all the cario hanger/bracket points and thus causing a bit of rattling every now and again, but slightly off topic now. I'm looking a single pipe exit with a single pipe exit (not 2 big this time). My pref would be something like the old OMP ones (mild steel), but cant track a suplier who still do them for my model. There must be a few dubbers out there so feedback would be appreciated - Thanks

Question : Do you need an Exhaust Pipe?
My Exhaust pipe disconnected from the muffler today. It came off behind the muffler about half way down the car. I have a 93' Mercury Cougar and really don't want to spend anymore money on it. If they tell me I need the pipe or exhaust system replaced, I want to go without the repair. A few questions: - Is it dangerous? - Will the car still run?- Any ideas about temporarily holding the pipe up, such as a wire hanger, duct tape, etc.? - And is it a huge fine if you're caught with it like that?I don't care about passing inspection, I'll worry about that in June. Thanks for any advice!
