Customer Review :

got to have it for K&N filters

I've had this kit before. The most difficult part of using it, is recoating the filter with oil, using squeeze bottle. I plan on trying to use a small atomizer spray bottle to apply it, when the time comes. You're trying to apply a light coat to the entire filter evenly. Maybe it could even be brushed on from a small disposable container.

Rating :

good stuff

not too much of work as others put it. A Must have if you use their filter. One thing the instruction said at the end that both clean and dirty sides show red evenly. I dont think you would get red to show up evenly on the clean side while you only apply oil to the dirty side, unless you risk over-oil it. With the amount of recommended oil, probably can only get 20% of clean side to show up red.

Fast shipping decent price

Haven't used this product but it came fairly fast and seems exactly what I ordered.
I'd buy from this retailer again.

Excellent

Extremely easy to use. It is perfect for any K&N air filter owner. It increases the life of your K&N air filter and helps increase the mileage and efficiency of your car and boosts horse power noticeably. Saves time and money when it comes to purchasing and renewing your car air filter.

Great kit

I've been using it for years on auto filters as well as my motorcycle which has an OEM non-disposable filter. It takes very little spray and will last forever. The cleaning process is simple and only takes a few minutes. The kit costs less than most replacements so it should be an easy decision for any reusable filter, even if it's not a K&N.

Helps out

Definitely helps with Gas Mileage on my 2006 Ford F150 for city and highway. Im gonna start using this every 4 months.

K&N filter care service kit

Not bad; product looks to perform as promised (just completed a long road trip for Thanksgiving....no breakdowns yet).

One thing to note....wear good eye protection (you might want to consider safety goggles, not just safety glasses) when using that aerosol mist (the oil, too, probably, but I didn't notice the problem so much with the oil). I was soaking my filter outside on a breezy day, spraying the aerosol onto the filter. The mist (and I'm not talking about much more than a few mist-drops) from this stuff got in my eyes. NOT COOL. This is why the product doesn't get five stars; they tell you about the eye hazard, but I don't think they do enough to highlight it in light of how much it burns to get so little into your eyes. I'd recommend nitrile safety gloves too.

K&N Stuff

This is a great product if you have a K&N filter. Great Value for money and instructions are easy to understand.

Originally developed for demanding auto race applications, our premium oil filter is rapidly becoming a favorite among consumers for its durability and easy removal. We've changed oil filters and several of our product development technicians are sportsman class drag racers. They insisted we offer an oil filter that corrected the headaches they experienced over the years changing oil filters. We have all been there: Whether it's remembering where that disappearing canister tool is; or having oil leak all over your garage and yourself; or finally giving up and pounding a screwdriver through the filter just to get if off. Each of our automotive and marine oil filters comes with a 1 nut welded to the top of the canister so they can be easily wrenched-off with a standard tool. Our motorcycle and ATV oil filters come with a 17 mm nut. Our oil filters use resin impregnated cellulose filter media. This allows for higher flow rates while providing outstanding filtration. High filter flow rates are important in racing vehicles where heavier grade oil is used and the oil is pumped much faster than in a standard vehicle. When the engine is circulating oil at high GPM rates, the high-flow oil filter helps reduce the loss of pressure through the filtering process. To satisfy the demands of racers, our oil filter has many features over and above the requirements of most vehicles. We use thicker canister walls for extra strength and durability which reduces the risk of damage from loose rocks and debris. The heavy-duty construction will withstand higher oil pressures found only in racing environments without bursting. The drilled hole on the nut is for a safety wire attachment. Required for many types of racing, the safety wire prevents blown oil filters from falling on the track and representing a hazard to other race vehicles. This extra engineering offers peace of mind for consumers who want only the best.

K&H Oil Filter

What can I say about an oil filter? I do like what other websites say in praise and I like the hexhead screw-on device, which is really handy on our Honda Civic's filter location.

Rating :

Perfect

I haven't dissected the filter so I can't speak to the internal workings but this seems like a good quality filter. I usually used the Mobil 1 M1-110 but this one is far and away better just because of the standard wrench removal. Any 1 inch open or closed ended wrench will work. I actually had to remove the skid plate from my Frontier to get the 110 off because I couldn't find a wrench that fit the tiny little filter. Flow rate seems good, I'd stick with this one.

great filter for the money

I purchase this oil filter for infiniti M45 and infiniti G35 and have used them on the civic Si, Rx-8, and nissan 95 240sx with a sr20det s14 VTC type. I keep them around because they work on a plethora of engines: honda K20/24 & J30 V6, Rx-8's rotary, Nissan S14 SR20det, VQ35/37/40, VK45, VR38DETT, mitsubishi 4b11 (evo X) and 4g63(evo 8/9/ eclipse) and many more.

The nut is a life saver in tight spaces, and especially on the new 2006+ civics Si which have a very tight and confined installation space. As for filtering i've taken an old one apart and noted the filter media is very high quality i'd say as good or maybe better than most oem filters.

I recommend it, it's a good filter just to keep around/ have since it works on just about anything my friends have.

K&N

I've always been a fan of K&N products ever since I put a cool air intake on a 01 Dodge Ram 1500. I really couldn't get the gas mileage up but the proclaimed extra hoarse power was definitely there. I bought my wife a 05 jeep wrangler with a 4.0 liter and every time the oil gets changed the oil is cleaner. And I also put a drop air filter in it as well. And yes more hoarse power. So I recommend using K&N products for what ever car/truck you have. They are more expensive but so are vehicles.

K&N filters.

I had always used Fram oil filters until a local shop showed me what was inside- cardboard.
Now I will only buy K&N or Wix.
I value my vehicles.

Good Oil Filter

This is an excellent oil filter if you are looking to spend the extra bucks. However, I think a cheaper one that buy at the local autoparts store maybe just as good. Its up to you.

works very well

As I expected, the engine runs slightly quieter and smoother with this K&N filter that when when using an STP or Fram oil filter. A cheap investment in the longevity of your car.

they seem better built than stock and i cant really tell how good they are butt there air filter works better than stock so good chance these are better for your car than stock

good filter - good price

Weight of this filter tells you right away that you are getting a substantial filter. The 1-inch "nut" on the end plus the painted "dot" on one side of that nut makes for easy install. In tight applications, a typical adjustable wrench allows an easy turn. The added dot allows you to easily note when you have turned the filter the required 3/4ths of a turn onto the engine. It's a small extra, but it keeps you from having to scratch an index mark onto the filter body once it contacts the engine (as a reference mark to then turn the filter the additional 3/4-ths of a turn to seat it properly).

Questions & Answers
Question : Filters!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
for a bigger tank (46-55 gallons) is it better to get 2 small filters or one big one?

Answer:
The main purpose of any filter is mostly chemical, to smaller extend biological and chemical. The main purpose of a filter it to circulate the water. Thus adding an extra filter only increase the flow turn (i.e. number of time the entire volume of your tank is circulated hourly). For FW tank this amount should be about 10 to 15 times an hour.So adding an extra filter does not increase you bioload capacity by double. Simply pick one filter that is designed to handle 55 gallons. Use the rest of the money something else.

Question : Where can I find commercial filters for a restaurant?
I would like to purchase some filters for a restaurant, but Im not quite sure where to start looking. I want one for the ice machine, cooking, and drinking water. Maybe some sort of filter that attaches to the pipes. And one that wouldnt have to be changed frequently. Anyone have ideas to start looking?

Answer:
Yeah. Go to a restaurant supply outlet. Not sure where you live, but they have them in most cities. You can also go online. See link below to Zesco for filters.

Question : How often should you replace filters in hooded litter boxes?
My hubby and I have a Booda box for our kitties and I didn't see anything in the directions about how often the filters should be replaced? For people with hooded boxes, how often do you change the filters?I'd specifically like to hear from anyone who owns Booda Boxes...

Answer:
I change the litter regularely. First time I did, I threw the darned filter away and put baking soda in with the litter. It's cheaper than the filters and works better. Considering how effective the filters are are, you don't need them. 90% of the air flow goes out through the flap anyway.

Question : After changing the filters in my reverse osmosis system, why do I have to run the water for 24 hours?
I just changed the filters in my reverse osmosis filtration system. The instructions say to run the water for 24 hours. This seems excessive with the drought. Do I really need to let the water run for that long?Is there carbon in the filters? Do they put things in filters that we shou;dnt be consuming and how do we know it is all out after 3 tanks?

Answer:
Over the next 24 hours, you will need to fill the tank and emply it at least 3 times. It is done that way to get the carbon out.

Question : What are good materials for homemade filters ?
I need to make a filter for school, using anything besides regular filters or carbon, what can i use ?

Answer:
I need to make a filter for school, using anything besides regular filters or carbon, what can i use ?

Question : filters??????????????????????????
plz give me some site that by pass filter on the computer like at school?????????????????????????????

Answer:
Circumventing Internet access control systems with web proxies to access unauthorized web sites is a violation of school computer usage policy. You will get suspended and/or banned from using school computers when you get caught. Use school computers for school work, and myspace can wait until you get home. Do you really want your teachers and school administrators knowing what you are posting on myspace anyways?

Question : Are there any other filters that need to be changed on a toyota v6 vehicle besides oil and air?
I recently changed my oil filter and air filter and wanted to know if any other filters would need to be changed such as fuel filter or any others i might not know about. The truck has 150,000 miles on it.

Answer:
how about a feul filter and just make sure the feul injection gets cleaned once in a while and a tune up and thats it, ps check out the timing belt while your at it

Question : What are camera filters and lens, and Do I really need it?
I am planning to buy a digital camera (not SLR) that has "optional extra lens" and "optional filters". I only take photos of the family and friends on vacation and at gatherings.

Answer:
The most important filter on your lens is the skylight or UV filter that is used to protect the lens from damage. Most digital "point and shoot" cameras do not take filters in any case. An add-on lens that might come in handy is the wide angle one. There are times when you need to get more in your photo and there is no way to back up any farther. Also when on vacation, we tend to shoot more landscapes and sunrises and sunsets, so an axillary wide angle adapter might just fit into your plans.

Question : How do I avoid SPAM filters to get html newsletters through to people who have signed up for our newsletter?
As SPAM filters get ever more stricter, I'm seeing my newsletter open rates drop dramitically. I know that newsletters I sign up for end up in my junk mail box all the time. I know how to make them a 'trusted' sender but not everybody does. I'd love to be pointed towards free resources on the web which will give me a better understanding of how SPAM filters work and how to legitimutley get around them. This can include words or phrases not to use or any advice on how to educate the recipients on how to allow access to emails they've signed up for. Any help would be grately appreciated.

Answer:
change your Internet supplier AND change the subject line to a more personal title. Do not use the words "news, or any other spam alerting word in the title. You have been flagged as a spam generator by more than one person.

Answer:
Plugged sewer line.Sewers work better (plug less often too!)if the only stuff that goes down the drains are things out of or off of a human...
