AIR FIL CARE KIT-SQUEEZE

Customer Review :

Exactlly as expected.

These kits are easy to use and last a long time. Follow the directions and you'll be quite satisfied.

Rating :

great care for a great filter

I don't understand the people complaining about having to clean their filter in their review and complaining about it taking an hour. If i only have to spend 1 hour every 25-50,000 miles on my car on an air filter i'm happy. Not to mention increased power and fuel efficiency. All in all, i love k&n products and highly recommend both the filters and the cleaning kit. If you are worried about loosing your initial investment as one reviewer noted, just hold off on the cleaner for a few years and buy it when you need it lol.

Rating :

Ok

Buy the aerosol type instead. The squeeze bottle is too uneven and much harder to apply. The aerosol evenly coats the filter. The cleaner does a good job of loosening the dirt for the pre-cleaning.

PITA

GREAT SERVICE, PRODUCT RETURNED, ALONG WITH K&N FILTER, NOT WORTH THE MONEY. CANNOT JUSTIFY CLAIMS AND CLAIMS DO NOT JUSTIFY COST.

better gas mileage

since I've installed this filter my gas mileage around town has gone from around 18mpg to around 22mpg!and I've done nothing else that would have effected the mpg!

Rating :

Super-star air filter

The era of mandatory field-trips to the dealership for a new filter every 15,000 miles came to a close. Enter the washable convenience of K&N.
Installation intuitive, fit great, no snags.

Have not noticed significant difference in gas mileage, nor in dynamics of my 350-Z, but will continue to watch fuel consumption as the most likely area for improvement given my car's configuration.

Would pursue other mods, like exhaust mods for example, first if seeking fast and noticeable bump in power output.

Plan on buying 7 aire filters, just buy this

I have been trying to find a cheaper alternative to the KN, but when I looked at the price, it was the same as buy 7 Walmart fram air filters. I off road so go through filters fast (I know you are not suppose to use KN off roading, but I do). Decided to buy the filter and never think about the filter again.

Rating :

Didn't see any big differences

Changed from a paper air filter to the K&N. Didn't see any improvement in fuel milage nor experience any improvement in horse power. Hopefully I can save some money base on it being a re-usable filter.

Great Filter, As Long As It's Clean

Make no mistake, K & N filters are top notch, but beware of people who claim huge improvements in mileage and power (i.e. 10-15%). With the billions of dollars the auto industry has spent trying to improve gas mileage and power, every car made in the world would have these as original equipment if such gains were possible. If life were only so simple. People who replace a CLOGGED filter with a new one will notice an improvement (if it's clogged badly enough, the improvement might be that your car runs now). Definitely better than many in fit and quality, plus being reusable, but a magic bullet it is not. A clogged K & N filter will also cause performance problems, it's just that all you have to do is clean it properly, and you are off and running; whereas a paper filter, you have to throw it out.

Editorial Review :

Wix Cabin Air Filters are designed to circulate clean air inside the cabin. They filter the contaminants down to microscopic size and provide a linear path for low air restriction. These are pleated paper filters and are placed in the outside air intake of the vehicle’s passenger compartment.

Customer Review :

Wix Works Well.... WOW!

I have 3 vehicles that all use air cabin filters. It amazes me how much the service center at the car dealership wants to charge customers to install these! I've had quotes between $75 and $90 for each of my cars. It literally took me about 5 minutes to install these.

I've been using the Wix filters for quite some time, change them about once per year. They really seem to capture a lot of dirt without obstructing airflow. I notice in the spring I have less pollen inside my car when I have the Wix filter in place.

Good price, easy to install, works well, and I keep a lot of extra $ in my pocket by doing this myself.

Very good fit and seems to do the job

As others have chimed in, this filter seems to do its duty. The fit is good and it filters the vast majority of junk trying to make its way into the cabin of your car.
This size, which fit my Honda Civic, did fit nicely, however the Wix filter wasn't quite as sturdy as the OEM Honda filter that came with the car. This seems to be the overall comment made by others as well.
However, sturdy doesn't really define what a good cabin air filter needs to be. So while it is just a tad more flimsy, I think it still does a great job. Besides, Wix is known to make a quality filter.
If anything else, my dealership wanted $118 for changing out this filter! I bought this from Amazon for $13?
The installation is easier than any other air filter change out there. For my Civic, remove all the junk from your glove box, lower your glove box past the stopper tabs, unclip the front flap of the cabin filter, pull out filter, replace.

No joke, the installation of this filter took less than 3 minutes. Save yourself $100 by not going to the dealership for this item.

Good luck!

Best $18 bucks spent!

I purchased my 2009 Honda Accord EX-L in March 2009 and drive it around Virginia every day; almost 40k miles in one year! Needless to say I like to invest in good parts and keep it well maintained. I was amazed at how much debris got into the OEM cabin air filter in just the first year. I had a 2002 Accord coupe before purchasing this vehcile and remember the cabin air filter being much harder to change. NOT the case with the 2009 Accord. In a matter of 2-3 minutes TOPS I had the old filter out and the new one installed. You basically just disconnect the side glove box connector, squeeze in the sides of the glvoe box and voila the glove box folds down. Pull out the filter box by pushing in the compression clips and out it comes. When I started my engine and turned on the AC I could immediately tell the difference in the better smell.

I am going to change this out at least once per year from now on. You save around $50 doing it yourself!

Better than no filter

While the construction of this filter is paper and glue, and the price is, well, pricey for paper and glue, you really need a new one if the existing one in your car is over 2 years old. The one I pulled out of my Honda Accord was practically black with contaminants. Installation is relatively easy if you have the Honda service manual; if not, the internet should yield suitable instructions (the filter box is located behind the glove compartment).

Save big by doing yourself

Fit perfect, took about 30 min to get glove box lowered to access filter location, Odyssey box a little more of a challenge than Accord. Saved about $65 for my effort.

Doesn't Quite Fit Right

This is an excellent filter, but it doesn't quite fit right. I made sure to check that it was compatible with my vehicle, but when installing it, it was a little bit larger than it should be. This made it difficult to install and get the filter cover back on.

A tight fit, but worth every penny

I've always wanted to try something more than just the standard paper filters, but money was always the winner in the end. After having to trim some of the rubber molding to fit the filter in my Maxima (not supposed to have done that), it works well. I bought a spare just in case too.

Review of FRAM Air Hog Air filter

This washable air filter seems to allow more airto the manifold yet filter out the dirt particles. I recommend it and the price is right!

Installation in 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX

Some reviews say that this filter doesn't fit right which when trying to install in a 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX the normal way it won't allow the tabs on the upper half of the air box to engage with the slots in the lower half of the air box. I found that the problem is that the rubber edge molding on the filter is a bit thicker and made of stiffer rubber thus not allowing the tabs to engage the lower half of the air box. The trick I found was to hold the filter in place in the upper half of the air box while you engage the tabs of the air box into the slots in the lower half of the air box. There is no need to modify the filter; DO NOT TRIM THE FILTER. If you trim the filter particles may get past the filter and into the engine. This may be the reason why others have had trouble with the filter fitting.

I have yet to put enough miles on the filter to comment on any changes in performance, but will update my review when I do.

Good bang for the buck

I used to use K&N on all my cars. Really hard to beat a performance filter. They are reusable, breathe better, and typically cost less in then paper filters in the long run. I started using Airhogs a while ago and have used them in three vehicles now. Very close to the same performance as K&N, and Amazon often has incredible deals on them. I barely paid more than the cost of a store brand paper filter for the last two I bought, and they work great.
