Mr Gasket fuel filter

I like this filter for the simple clear view I have of the gas going into my carb, also the different fittings that came with this filter make it easy to set up on any carbureted vehicle.

Wanted extra filters for later...

I purchased and installed two of these types of filters on my 1970 Morris "Mini" Pickup and loved them. They work great and you can see exactly how clean the filters are. I just bought two more for my 1968 Austin Cooper S. On both cars, I installed one in between the gas tank and the fuel pump and another right before the carburetor. I purchased two sets of these replacement filters for later on; they are less expensive than even the cheapest of fuel filters found at my local auto part dealer and the quality is great.

Surprising what you can find on Amazon nowadays

Exactly what we were looking for. Convenient on Amazon - especially when my husband thought we had to go searching around town. Use them on our boat & work just fine, exactly as needed.

Fine nylon filter cartridges for the Spectre fuel filter

How to review a filter cartridge? Well, I can assure you that it's the same kind that's originally installed in the filter, and that it comes with new gaskets. Price is nice and low, no ripoff here. No idea how long a fuel filter typically lasts before it needs replacement, but it probably helps that the Spectre is clear glass, so you can see exactly how it's doing.

good stuff

It took a little motor oil and elbow grease to install but it works great! My only gripe is that the fancy clamps don't snug my fuel line and there's a lot of open space for dirt to build up in.

Questions & Answers
Question : How many fuel filters are on a 1989 F150?
I have a 1989 Ford F150 4x4 Automatic. V8 302 engine. I have 2 tanks but only the front one works. I have been trying to diagnose the problem but I dont know if i need a fuel pump or maybe my fuel filter is clogged???What i need to know is if there is a fuel filter for each tank

Answer:
It really has three filters. One is on the frame rail under the driver door area, the other two are the pump filters in the tank.Be sure your selector works, and if it does you have a bad pump in the rear.

Question : Where are the fuel filters on a 1985 Subaru GL-10?
I have a 1985 Subaru GL-10 wagon that has started running rough once my speed gets up to about 35 mph. I'm suspecting the fuel filters (there are two). I bought replacements, but I've searched the engine and I can't find the old ones. Where are they?I would love it if someone could point me to a link with illustrations of the fuel filter locations.

Answer:
Here's a website for online repair info: www.2carpros.com/makes/subaru1.htmlYou'll find the exact location of the fuel filters-photos and diagrams are available in this site. Hope this works for you.

Question : How do I clean the Fuel pump, filters and tank cleaning on a 95' plymouth neon?
I have a 95 plymouth neon that was sitting for about 6months. i recently bought it and changed the alternator. The car was running great i put fuel in it and gas line antifreeze. When i tried to start it this morning it would turn over but wouldnt run. A friend suggested that the gas that was in it could have been to old. and maybe clogged my fuel fliter or fuel pump... Is there anyway or any product to clean this tank, filters, and fuel pump. without replaceing them.

Answer:
you can add cleaners through the gas to clean it out but that may not get it started again, you may wind up having to replace the pump in it because once they been setting for a while sometimes they will go out and cause a lack of fuel to the engine,if it were me id check the pump pressure and also check the relay for it,before i pulled the tank off it,you cant really clean it out good without removing it,adding chemical cleaner to it only loosens up more junk and causes it to stop the strainer up more on it,there's also a fuse for the pump you need to check to make sure it hasn't blown on it,good luck with it.

Question : How many fuel filters do you have on your old VDub?
I have a 1968 Karmann Ghia and have 5 fuel filters. Do I win? Do you think it's time for me to invest in a new gas tank? :)

Answer:
Why?One before the pump and one after it are plenty and then keep spares in the glove box.Old Guy

Question : Is it possible to install 2 Fuel Filters. Just Curious if it would affect the fuel pressure?
I have a 4 Cylinder 1999 Isuzu Rodeo. I bought 2 new fuel filters just so I would have them. Would the pressure drop if I put 2 filters on one after another, and would it cause the pump to work harder? Just thought it might be a pretty creative idea.

Answer:
If we are talking an in line filter and not one that sits in a chamber of the carb/injector housing, then yes: you certainly can install both.BUT: a flter catches material of a certain size-- 10 micron, say-- so any particle larger than that is getting caught by the first filter, and anything smaller is passing right through the second. When the first filter becomes clogged, the fuel won't flow well, and you'll need to change it.So a second filter will add nothing but complexity and cost.

Question : Where is the oil and fuel filters located on 2004 Sonata?

Question : how often do you change a Fuel Filters ?
how often do you change a fuel filter on a 07' ford five hundred with only 28,000 miles ?

Answer:
The basic rule of thumb is that items like drive belts, timing belts, sensors, hoses and fuel filters should be inspected and/or replaced at about 90,000 miles. So remember it when you go to replace your tires. If you have the owners manual, brows through it.It is a good idea to inspect the hoses and belts every time you change the oil or pop the hood. You should find a few minutes once a week to check all your fluids.

Question : where are all of the fuel filters on my 1977 chevy cheyenne?
I have already replaced the fuel element in the carb, and replaced the mechanical fuel pump and my engine still is not getting the fuel to the carb, so my question is where is the other fuel filter at in the scheme of things?

Answer:
crawl under it, find your feed fuel lines and trace it all the way to where it it goes to the carb... when you change these filters it would probly be best to blow out the lines (bolth feed and return lines if you have them) before new filters, do a flush on the tank, and run some carb cleaner for 3 or 4 filups

Question : two different colors in two fuel filters?
I have a diesel truck with two fuel filters, recently it stopped running and won't even crank. I took off both fuel filters and found that one had a redish liquid and the other had a light yellow colored liquid. Both smelled like fuel but the truck won't run and there shouldn't be two different colors in the same fuel system right?

Answer:
If it won't crank the problem is probably the battery or the starter solenoid. You shouldn't have two colors of fuel. Maybe one of the filters is for some kind of hydraulic fluid, try to trace the lines or get a repair manual or a real mechanic.
