K&N Cleaning Kit
Buying this kit on Amazon.com was about half what it would have cost me at the dealership that installed my system.
Rating :
good stuff
not too much of work as others put it. A Must have if you use their filter. One thing the instruction said at the end that both clean and dirty sides show red evenly. I dont think you would get red to show up evenly on the clean side while you only apply oil to the dirty side, unless you risk over-oil it. With the amount of recommended oil, probably can only get 20% of clean side to show up red.

got to have it for K&N filters
I've had this kit before. The most difficult part of using it, is recoating the filter with oil, using squeeze bottle. I plan on trying to use a small atomizer spray bottle to apply it, when the time comes. You're trying to apply a light coat to the entire filter evenly. Maybe it could even be brushed on from a small disposable container.

Fast shipping decent price
Haven't used this product but it came fairly fast and seems exactly what I ordered. I'd buy from this retailer again.

Editorial Review :
When used properly and at regularly sceduled intervals, AEM's Filter Cleaning Systems will ensure that your AEM filter element lasts for the life of your vehicle. AEM has two filter cleaning systems, one for our discontinued oiled-type air filters ONLY (AEM's Turbo-Flo), and one for our revolutionary new DRYFLOW air filters. The part number for the DRYFLOW Cleaning System is 21-110, and the part number for our previous-generation oiled filters is 21-100.
Customer Review :
If you have a AEM DryFlow system you need this!
This is great stuff to keep your DryFlow AEM filter clean. Amazon has this stuff at a great price and its hard to find in the stores too. It's easy to follow directions with just a 5 gallon bucket and easy to do!

K&N filter
It's cool. Does what it's supposed to do. I have the FIPK for my Explorer, but it wasn't available for my Suby, so I just got the replacement filter. I can't say I've noticed a difference in economy or performance, but having a washable/ reusable filter is what I wanted. This is it.

1 MPG improvement
I recommend this product, but only experienced 1mpg improvement in city driving, not sure if it made any difference on highway driving. Fit was perfect and I like the idea that I can wash the filter and not worry about buying a new one. My car is a Subaru Impreza 2.5i 2008

This was a no brainer!
All 3 of our cars now have K & N filters.
Just not a better choice.
Over the years use of K&N filters have saved me lots of $$$$.
When we bought our new car it was my fist extra purchase / investment to prolong the life of the car. I've had a K&N in my truck for 14 years and the engine still runs like a champ. Easy to clean and re-charge..
The only Warning I have is make sure you put the K&N sticker that comes with the filter on the air intake.. My wife once took our car in for an oil change.. The attendant was new and replaced the air filter.. There went the K&N, by the time I found out the filter was either in his car or the land fill. My wife is now aware all our cars have K&N's :-)

true to its name and rep
bought this for my 09 Subaru Impreza and I have had it in for about a week,I have noticed a slight increase in power and acceleration but havent really noticed any gas mileage improvement in city driving but noticed a slight improvement in gas mileage on highway driving.ive used K&N in V-8 cars ive owned and noticed the power difference so I would recommend this to anyone who wants a little more power and wants too keep there car basically stock and not install a cold air intake type system and possibly void warranty.the filter fit perfectly and was very easy to install with just a screwdriver

Happy Subie
I have been looking for a great price on this filter for a long time. Easier to install than any filter as it doesn't fall appart when you are trying to put it in the air box. The price I got was almost $20 dollars cheaper than any competitor. I am really happy with this filter. Seems to improve low end torque and power, not sure about any improvement in gas mileage.

Editorial Review :
K&N Air Filter Oil is the only oil specially formulated to work in combination with the cotton fabric in K&N FilterCharger elements providing a superior air filtration system. When used as directed, it quickly penetrates the filter pleats, where it remains suspended in the cotton fabric. Air filter oil is designed specifically for air filter elements and will boost the performance of cars and trucks. Saturation is maintained until the element is cleaned with K&N air filter cleaner and degreaser. Air filter oil is applied to moisten the foam filter element. Even amount of oil is applied over the foam filter element. Use your fingers and squeeze the foam filter element to ensure that the oil is absorbed throughout the foam filter element.

As good as any K&N
I put this in a 2008 Toyota Highlander 3.5L V6. It fit well, I have no complaints and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Rating :
Great filter - be prepared for the install challenge!
This is my third KN filter (my third vehicle), and has not disappointed. Beware, tho - the installation on an 08 Highlander is not as easy as "loosen the nut and remove the cover" that other vehicles have. Still, it was worth the effort.
Rating :
Easy Installation, Saves Gas
I purchased two of these, one for a 2003 Camry and the other for a 2008 Sienna. It is a very easy installation, just pop off the filter cover for the old one and slip these pre-oiled filters in. Great for a car's lifetime. Two words of caution though: 1) buy the cleaner and oil kit because you will need it to clean the filter after about 5000 - 7000 miles and 2) make sure you install the filter correctly. The filter has a curved corner that matches perfectly with the filter box. If you are not attentive, you might not align it correctly and close the box without a good seal. I'm sure the instructions might tell you this, I never took the time, but I guess I had enough time to install it twice. After about 1000 miles, it seems to increase the fuel efficiency, but don't expect dilythium crystal - like increases/savigns. If you plan on keeping the car a lot of miles, the savings will add up.

K&N air filter
This is a great product. The cost is similar to a Lexus disposable air filter.

Varoom!
I have an '07 Toyo Solora 4-banger and this product increased horsepower AND increased MPG by 5 points! Awesome, totally worth the money...quick delivery! Just be aware that cleaning this air filter means purchasing the cleaning kit since the filter is not easy to clean.

Questions & Answers
Question : Would you recommend using Lucas brand fuel system cleaner?
I went to various sites to see which fuel system cleaner would be better to use and I want to know if I should use Lucas brand or another brand. Another fuel system cleaner people recommended was Techron. Should I use one of these or should I use another?
Answer:
HELL YEAH!!@ Lucas makes a product called "Tune up in a bottle" Cost about 5.00. Get a tank of high octane (93/94) and dump about a bottle and a half in there and take it down the freeway about 70-80 MPH for about 30 minutes, works good, used it a few times, cleans injectors and intake valves. get down to about 1/4 a tank, fill her back up and put the rest of that bottle in, works great. Lucas makes good stuff.

Question : Do you have to upgrade the fuel system when going turbo with the D17a1 engine?
i know its a returnless system so i can't use a fuel pressure regulator, but i'll only be running 7 or 8 psi, so i dont think i'll have a problem with detonation. i guess the a1 has a lower compression ratio already.
Answer:
If your runnning 8 psi or less on a good tune than the stock fuel pump will do. If your running anything over I would highly recommend upgrading to a walbro 255

Question : Is fuel system cleaning service offered by walmart worth the money?
Walmart uses gumout liquid intake cleaner and fuel system cleaner on some automobiles. And their ad claims it will give car more power, improve fuel efficiency and reduce exhaust emissions. I am curious. Is it worth the money to have this done and will it really help my sluggish, running car?
Answer:
Depends on year make and model. Most modern cars will benefit by using a fuel system cleaner you add to the gas once or twice a year. You can DYI by buying a can at any local auto parts store like a auto zone or kragen etc.. Just follow the directions on the can.

Question : How much does a shop usually charge to clean your fuel system, I really need my injectors cleaned!?
How much does a shop usually charge to clean your fuel system, I really need my injectors cleaned, not to mention everything else in the fuel system! I drive a 93 240sx. Thanks for your help!
Answer:
if you have used good gas and kept filter changed you are wasting your time and money having injectors cleaned

Question : Has anyone got a fuel system diagram for a gilera runner 125?

Answer:

Question : What's the difference with a fuel injection power flush vs a fuel system cleaning?
My 60K mile list says "Fuel injection power flush." I can't find a place that can tell me what that is. They tell me I should get a fuel system cleaning. Is the power flush the same as a cleaning? I have a 2002 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS
Answer:
Just some crap Subaru came up with to lure you to their dealership. Geez I thought more of Subaru. Oh well, all confidence in humans is lost given enough time.Buy a bottle of Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner in the black bottle at Wal-Mart. Add it to a half tank of gas. Drive the car hard for that half tank of gas. Done.

Question : How do I know if my fuel system really was cleaned?
I recently took my 07 Chrysler Pacifica in to have the fuel system cleaned, just part of regular maintenance. I was wondering though if there is a way to tell if the fuel system really was cleaned.I had seen a TV news report about oil change/maintenance places that were being investigated for fraud. They were selling services like oil changes to people and then not performing them. So now I'm a little paranoid about these types of things...Thanks!BTW, it has roughly 34000 miles already, that's why I had the fuel system cleaned.
Answer:
well you didnt have to take it to a shop to get it cleaned if you wanted to clean the system then just add octane at the gas station when filling it up it will work the octane will start to run through the system starting from the tank to the filter the pump pipes injectors that are the most important of them all so try it it and you wont be down and forget about what the shop did bye bye

Question : Can you use fuel system cleaner if you have a supercharger?
Got an Avalanche with a 5.3L and a MangaCharger Intercooled Supercharger and wasn't sure if you could use fuel system cleaner or not?
Answer:
The problem with a lot of the additives is that it contains many different kinds of chemicals that can strip away the Teflon coating on the superchargers rotors. Since some of these chemicals are acid based, it can also eat away at the superchargers seals and bearings. Now if you run the chemicals in the fuel tank or in a direct line with the fuel injectors then it is a lot safer. Since the fuel never touches the blower a lot of times you will be okay. Now if you are looking into a chemical that requires you to shoot it into the throttle body or air intake track, then you might want to stay away from it. Shooting anything directly into the intake track will pass through the supercharger and it will slowly harm the superchargers seals, bearings, and the thin coating that is on the supercharger rotors. So it really comes down to what chemicals and how you are going to perform this service. The bottom line is if you are going to shoot it into the intake side…then DON’T do it. If you are running it with the gasoline in your fuel tank, then you should be okay.

Question : How much does fuel system cleaning really improve your milage?
Do cheaper cleaners really work for this? Anything special I should know before trying a fuel system cleaner on a hybrid?
Answer:
With the quality of fuels available it is not likely that any dirt exists for a "cleaner" to clean. We are pushing the limits of claims when labels claim an increase in fuel economy due to dirty injectors.Yes, very clean injectors do a better job but the relation to fuel economy is minimal.I have never felt the need to use such a product and find my economy is more related to the temperature and engine speed.

Question : Fuel System?
Where are the fuel sensors located in a 1999 ford Windstar LX?My 1999 Windstar LX is having a fuel problem. I am driving and all of sudden the van starts missing and cutting out just like I ran out of gas just for a second or two then runs good again. This happens a lot when I have between a ¼ and 1/8 of a tank of gas.If I have more than a ¼ tank it runs pretty good but still cuts out every so often. It’s not all the time, it may run great for ten miles and then cuts out 5 times in a ½ mile. It use to cut out only at lower speeds 20-45 mph now its even cutting out at 60mphI am thinking fuel sensor, but that’s just a guess. If anyone has an idea please let me know.
Answer:
Has the fuel filter been changed every 2 or 3 years ? You can check the pump's flow & psi on the fuel rail.
