Questions & Answers
Question : do you know where i can buy an anti sway bar?
i need a front sway bar for a 2000 chevy venture. the bar broke by the end links. i have looked and looked online but none of the places carry it for my van. i checked autozone advance auto checkers jc whitney jegs ect. no luck.

Answer:
GM dealer's are the best place to get suspension replacement parts there are a few aftermarket parts manufactures but factory replacement parts are always the best bet

Question : What are the pros and cons of putting anti sway bars in my car,I have an acura Integra is that helps.?
also, is it better to put them both front anf back or is there a benefit to only putting it in one place eg. only the front

Answer:
your acura should have sway bars on it already. they help with body roll and handling be preventing weight transfer to one side and the tires on the inside unloading (spinning or slipping) i would put on/ replace both front and rear

Question : Rear Sway Bars worht it?
I just found out that my 2002 already has a rear anti-sway bar, and also that it's not much difference in diameter than the Hotchkis one. So that being the case, is it just that the "high performance" ones use polyurethane bushings, or is their product going to make that much of a difference in regards to handling over what I'm used to?

Answer:
YES the bushings r everything. When u make a hard turn and the sway bars r keeping the body roll at a min when they reach the limit its the bushings the hlod the turn for u when the bushings r maxed thats when u lose control and or fishtail or spinout or lesser then that it will create a lot of under or oversteer to. And u would also be suprised on how much stronger a quater inch larger diameter will be compared to stock. do it dude u wont regret it.

Question : Will it affect the performance of my Yamaha Rhino to have the rear anti-sway bar removed?
I am thinkin of taking my Rhino in for their "voluntary repair service", and i want to know how the 2 inch spacers and the removal of the rear anti-sway bar are going to affect my Rhino.

Answer:
it is going to handle like crap. the back end of the rhino is going to sway around feel very loose.I wouldn't do it.

Question : what is the difference between a sway bar and an anti sway bar?
and a strut bar?

Answer:
sway bar/anti sway bar are used to describe the same thing.Usually in the rear of the vehicle the sway bar, is a bar that connects the driver and passenger sides of the axle/body together adding stiffness, this reduces the 'sway of the vehicle while cornering, especially at higher speeds. you also can have a sway bar in the front of the vehicle usually running along the front axle area.Strut bars also stiffen the vehicle and are similar to the sway bar, they mount on top of the engine, they mount to the top of each strut of the vehicle, reducing the 'body roll' of the vehicle.both items can greatly enhance the cars handling

Question : What determines good quality and longetivity for anti sway bars?
Since previous answerers were clueless, I do not need to know about personal driving preferences or what the difference between SWAY and ROLL are. I WANT TO KNOW what materials are better for them and at what length they will last...please submit BRANDS and why.

Answer:
Moog suspension components...Sway bars are Sway bars...don't know about aniti-sway bars....assuming you are making reference to suspension control components and only one material is suited for these applications and that is spring steel....

Question : on my dakota truck i have a front anti sway bar that is broken on the last foot of it is this bad?
on my dakota truck i have a front anti sway bar that is broken on the last foot of it is this bad?

Answer:
its bad enough,it wont handle quit as good as it should and you,ll notice it rolling in to curves more, the handling of it will be affected by this,i suggest you get it replaced, and use new bushings also, you can get a used one for it from a salvage yard for about 40-50 bucks, sometimes cheaper, but always use new bushings with those.good luck on it.

Question : I have a 1997 Ford F250 with a 6inch lift. I need new sway bar links. Should I get anti sway bar links?
I have a 1997 Ford F250 with a 6 inch lift. I need new sway bar links. Should I get anti sway bar links? What is the difference. Because of my 6 inch lift should I get the anti sway bar links?

Answer:
this is one of those common wording mistakes....sway bars, anti sway bars, anti roll bars, are all the same.......you can get extension links to compensate for your lift and your truck will have less body roll when cornering. but as far as a difference between the sway bar and anti sway bar......its kinda like how people say "VIN number" even though the N stands for Number already

Question : I want to install rear sway bars on my 79 chrysler cordoba how easy is this to do?
I heard some of these cars came with a rear anti sway bar? if im not mistaken the magnum(78,79) 300 and charger(77) was from that era came with this as an option can I get one from one of these cars and bolt it on? and what exactly does it bolt on too? I also have dual flowmasters running straight back over but bent over my rear axle will this get in the way of the sway bar install?

Answer:
Get one from JC Whitney. Hellwig direct fit for many models or cars and trucks. Comes with all the hardware you need to bolt it on. Doubt you'll have to drill any holes but if you do it would only be two holes. Most frames have existing holes that the sway bar hardware bolts to. They bolt to the axle tube(s) and to the frame in most cases. A relatively easy job. Like one hour at the most.Good Luck!

Question : How much would adding anti-sway bars help my vehicle's handling...?
... as opposed to getting aftermarket suspension kits, coil overs, etc? I'm not a hard core racer or anything - I'll just run the quarter mile once in a while and desire a bit better handling while cornering or going fast on an off-ramp.

Answer:
depends what sort of car you are driving, however most of the time a sway bar which can be fitted under the bonnet diagonally from one suspension to another wont help much. You can get away with low profile and wider tires without modifying the stability of the car.... good luck mate
