Simple and Effective Load Leveler

We've been towing a large pop-up for two years with our 2000 Honda Odyssey, and by the time we had our 4 kids and all our gear in the camper and van, the van was squatting pretty low. We installed the Air Lift springs and towed the camper that weekend over 500 miles, and the springs made a big difference in vehicle handling, especially on the highway. They were sufficient to keep the rear end at normal height even under load, and ride well even on rough roads.

Installation tips:
- Installing the fill valve behind the fuel door makes checking pressure and adding air very convenient.
- The Odyssey has a tubular frame member between the back wheels which worked very nicely for running the air hose between the springs. This eliminated the need for the heat shield on the exhaust pipe.
- Toughest part of the install is cutting off the rubber bumper inside the coil spring. I recommend taking it off in slices, which allows you to pull the pieces out from inside the spring. Otherwise, you have to cut the bumper in pieces after you cut it off, which is very difficult.

The kit has everything needed including easy to follow instructions.

I had to get my Honda Odyssey jacked up pretty high to drill the holes in the bottom of the spring brackets. I would highly recommend having a good set of jack stands for this installation. I took my time and it took me just under 2 hours to complete the installation.

I also had to buy a better pressure gauge to set up the right pressure for normal operation (8-10 psi) and then up to 30 psi for when I'm towing my popup tent trailer.

Before the installation my van was dropping almost 3 inches with the popup hitched, but now it rides level when towing. Will recommend to friends that also have vans with soft rear suspension when needing to tow a heavy load.

Easy to use load leveler

I installed this product on a 2003 Honda Pilot with great results. Overall, this is a great product capable of leveling vehicle rear-end sag by 1 to 2 inches while preserving original ride characteristics. A must have if you tow or carry a heavy loads on long trips.

A great addition for the Honda Odyssey

I need to get something to help out the rear suspension of our '00 Honda Odyssey. It was going to have to haul 6 men and their golf clubs 6 hours one way for an outing. I knew that we'd be riding on the frame otherwise and these had gotten good reviews so I tried them.
Installation was made easier from the instructions I'd found on the Odyssey forum and it took me approximately 5 hours to get them totally installed. The only issue I had was the hole to be drilled in the bottom swing arm never came out centered like I would have liked. They provide a template but it is hard to center itself because of the design of the swing arm. It worked though. I've had them on for a couple months now and it hasn't lost any air. I set the bags at 25psi for that trip and it road great. For around town with our 4 small kids I keep it at 10psi.
Defintely a good addition to a minivan.

Review of Air Lift 1000

I installed this product on my 2004 Honda Odyssey. It took about 4 hours to do it according to instructions. The instructions were well written with good photos. I also decided to surround the air lines with 12 feet of 5/16" fuel hose I bought at local auto parts store, to protect the air lines from kinks and/or objects from road. I mounted a line to each air bag individually and placed the valve stems inside the fuel door compartment.

I am very satisifed with the purchase through Amazon, the product itself, and great improvement in the handling of my van!

great easy sollution to lift the saging springs.

I wish I would have found these years ago for my 4 runner. I just installed a pair to lift my 89 VW Westfalia. They were very easy to install and inflate and I think the price is very fair. It lifted the rear of the van and I was able to level from side to side as well. It took less than 30 minutes for the entire install. I would give it 5 stars but they are not a factory fix, more like a band-aid.
