Customer Review :
Not necessary if buying new pads
I bought the Beck Arnley Pads set for my car and thought since shims are being sold separately, they do not come with the pads. Well, I was wrong, now I have two sets of shims (one that came with pads + one I ordered). I also called to verify with the manufacturer- Beck Arnley, the day of the purchase, they confirmed I needed to order shims separately. My advice, don't buy shims if buying new pads, you won't need them. Otherwise, first 100 mi with their pad/shims set-- no squealing so far...

Shims work for your front pads
If you have the pads, you will need these shims. They keep the spacing correct.

Questions & Answers
Question : Megane II Disc Brake Squeal?
Yes, I know the Megane II suffers with disc brake squeal, but has anyone managed to sort it for the life of the car?Has anyone yet tried to pull the caliper pistons out, grease the piston sides, (Correct grease type please) refit them, bleed the system and then refit the pads using copaslip grease and anti-squeal shims?Does this work on the Megane?
Answer:
Used to work for Renault and most of them gave problems with brake squeal. On no account put coppaslip on the surfaces between the piston and the caliper as this will damage the piston seals. Only use clean brake fluid. We used to use an anti seize grease on the rear of the pad where it hits the piston but it is important to put this also at the top and bottom of the pads where they sit in the caliper. The grease we used was an aluminium based item, similar to coppaslip but stickier. Even when the same car returned to have the pads replaced again, this stuff was as fresh as the 1st time. Are you sure that the squeal is coming from the front as non-asbestos rear brake shoes are very dusty and this also causes a bad squeal. Usually the drums need removed and cleaned and a little anti seize grease applied between the backplate and the point where the brake shoe touches it.

Question : 01 subaru outback locking front rt brake?
hi, i have a 01 subaru outback with ABS and am having trouble with the rt front wheel locking up intermittently. I have changed the rotors, calipers, pads, shims and flushed the system. The problem still exists. All other brakes work fine. What can cause this? Thanx
Answer:
check your abs system. your sensor might be faulty

Question : Transmission problem (possibly) with 3rd Gen Integra Automatic, or possible ABS system issues.?
Today I had to get under my Integra coupe to replace what I originally thought was a simple "bad brake pad" problem. I replaced the (front) pads; it started when I had a problem the night before. After I had taken a turn I heard and felt this hard "thunking" sound from my right front wheel. After I checked the wheel and disc I noticed a shim had been slipping off and carving a ridge into the axle (not the disc side) of the front right wheel. After I had replaced the pads today it is still doing the same "thunking" sound. Bear in mind I did check CV axles and the boots they're fine. Also, I haven't had the timing on the engine done yet. She's sitting at 107,140 miles right now. Also, I have not changed the tranny fluid in about 67,000 miles. Any help in regards to this would be greatly appreciated. As of now, I'm on foot. (For fear this may destroy the tranny and/or engine itself.)
Answer:
timming belt should have been replaced at 80,000hard to say about a thunking noise if we can't hear it..I had a thunking noise in my RSX-S last month...it was my AC. Ate itself...($1600 bucks worth)...so thunking noises could be anything..
