Editorial Review :
Motorcraft EGR Valve Gaskets are designed and tested to meet OE requirements for durability and reliability under extreme conditions. These gaskets prevent leakage between two objects under compression. They allow less precise mating surface on machines ensuring lasting durability.

Questions & Answers
Question : Toyota Camry check engine light?
I have 2001 Toyota Camry with around 130K miles and check engine light was on. Since I could not pass the emission test, I took the car to the Goodyear shop for the computer test and they said I need to replace a lot of parts. So I replaced the following parts : catalytic converter, oxygen sensor, EGR vacuum modulator, evap. vacuum control valve, vacuum switching valve, exhaust flange gasket, EGR valve position sensor. After four days later, light came back and the same mechanic did the computer test again and asked to replace rear oxygen sensor. The mechanic said that is what the computer reads. So I replaced the rear oxygen sensor. Then yesterday, four weeks later, engine light came back again, but this time the computer test was fine and the mechanic said 'use the highest octane gas'. Can anybody give me an advice what is going on in my car? Was that the right thing what the shop did to repair my car's emission system? Can anybody know any policy if they replaced wrong parts?
Answer:
Your current mechanic is just throwing parts at the vehicle. I noticed the most obvious thing to replace, and one of the easiest, you didn't mention.Did you replace the AIR FILTER? A clogged air filter can give bad O2 readings (due to a lack of oxygen) and can cause the check engine light to come on.Obviously your current mechanic can't fix it right. Higher octane gasoline won't make the check engine light stay off, higher octane fuels actually are more resistant to combustion.

Question : 98 Nissan Altima poor idle quality, trouble code 304?
I have a lot of automotive experience, but with older engines. Sometimes this "high-tech" emissions crap is a bit over the top, and semi-functional at that. This condition began after an oil change that puddled onto the valve cover, swelled up the spark-plug boots, and soaked the top of the engine until I opened the hood, and reacting to what I observed, replaced the plugs and wires, yet the code 304 (misfire Cylinder #4) recurred. The car went back [to the same place that changed the oil!--Inventors of the 721 tire and the Wrangler series on Ford Explorers ; D ] and their diagnosis was intake manifold & valve cover gaskets. This is bull, and yes i know my roommate's trippin, bringin it back to them. One fuel injector plug-in was very loose, so I connected it back up and so far, no trouble code (I have a handheld like Suntune diagnostic analyzer) but is this most likely something in the EGR system? Please, I'd appreciate any help on this....@1: Duh! Congrats, you got 2 points
Answer:
Our book says cylinder 4 misfire. I would take it preferably to a Nissan garage and have them do a diagnosis. You can first ask them if they charge for a Diagnosis but most places don't.
