Question : abs/air bag sensor?
I have a 1999 Ford Explorer v6 4wd 156k mi, both abs and air bag sensor are illuminated. My horn works. due for inspection in July, just wanted to know what i am looking at in price, i know about the diagnostic check, does the temperature outside have anything to do with the sensors? I will throw this in if it helps, about a month ago i had 4 bulbs replaced in the dash, they took the piece of from under the steering wheel, broke a plastic piece off, there is a ting gap on one side, otherwise its fine.

Answer:
What you had done might matter but the ABS light might just be the rear sensor (very common) and the air bag light, I hate to say this because I dislike the dealers but you will need to let them work on that because of liability...........just run down to your local auto parts store and have them scan it for you first and that way you will have some idea of what is going on.......

Question : I have a 03 cadillac cts and the service air bag light keeps coming on then going off.?
I have had this car inspected for a pinched wire or loose wire or ground. Am I in need of replacing the air bag sensor and if so where can I find one?

Answer:
depends on what the computer scan is telling you.. I could be a sensor in the steering column all the way to the froy impact sensors on the front fender to one of the sealbelt sensors.. but if the light is coming and going, then probably a loose wire.. take to dealership and have computer scan done.. or take to advanced auto parts, or auto zone,,theirs are free...at least you you have to have a starting point, If they pull a code, as for it and send me a email, and I will look it up.

Question : where is the air bag sensor on a 2000 jeep grand cherokee?
my air bag light goes on and off and i need to get a inspection this month. where is the sensor located and how much do they cost?

Answer:
There are front rear and side impact sensors. Go behind a Chrysler dealer or Dodge, the SRS has its own codes and self diagnostics, and it usually is a different problem than those, but any of the guys working will scan it for free. Just tell em you'll give em 10 bucks for the codes. Then ask where is this sensor located? The parts are expensive. The little connector right behind the drivers steering wheel sometimes causes problems. Be sure to power down the battery by unhooking the negative terminal before taking the four 10mm nuts off behind the steering wheel, a yellow wire is another disconnect down the steering column. The sensors are in front in the engine compartment deep im the front corners. Sometimes just turning the power off and back on can reset the SRS computer. Be careful, it is very important and dangerous. OK

Question : Where is the location of the front air bag sensor on a 2005 Silverado?
I had my vehicle checked when the air bag light came on and the code B0100, electronic front end sensor fault, appeared. I need to know where to locate the sensor so I can replace it. The truck is a C1500 extended cab 2005 Chevy Silverado. Any help in answering this will be much appreciated.

Answer:
Your seat has PPS (passenger presence system) sensors on the seat rail controlling the airbag multi-stage deployment and the B0100 diagnostic trouble code indicates a left signal circuit (sensor 1) performance fault. I suggest you check the connector to sensor 1, the occupant sensor on the driver side seat rail, and also check the connector to the SDM (sensing diagnostic module) which is mounted on the floor under the driver side seat. But to prevent accidental deployment of the airbags be sure to disconnect the negative battery cable and the wait at least 1 minute before tampering with the connectors. After checking the connectors for looseness or corrosion, then re-connect the negative battery cable and turn the ignition switch on to see if the airbag light goes off. If it doesn't then the driver side sensor (sensor 1) is probably defective. But before replacing the sensor, swap the driver side sensor over to the passenger side and the passenger side over to the driver side and then after cycling the ignition switch check the trouble codes again. If you get a B0103 (sensor 2 performance fault) then the sensor is bad but if you still get a B0100 (sensor 1 performance fault) then the problem is likely a faulty connector to the driver side sensor or a problem with the SDM or its connector, the sensing diagnostic module mounted on the floor under the driver side seat. And just as a reminder to prevent accidental deployment of the airbags, be sure to disconnect the negative battery cable and the wait at least 1 minute before tampering with the connectors, sensors, and the sensing diagnostic module.

Question : where in my car, can I find air bag sensors?. since the air bag light in my car is on, I'd like to replace it.
How can I find the air bag sensors in my car?

Answer:
depends on the car...most ive seen are situated under the centre consol just under the dash..normally silyer with yellow stickers and yellow wires going to it...
