Enduring Product

I found this product a few years ago during a Christmas sale at a local store. Since I wasn't pleased with the products on the market, I had nothing to lose. After washing the car, I applied the Meguiar's product. Wow! The tire protectant passed week one through rain and another car wash and still looked great. This was impressive. The tires looked great for a few more weeks(yes, weeks). Even though weeks had come and gone, the tires never looked really bad. The other products I tried faded after a week with the tires looking like they were 5 years old. The Meguiar's product is the only one to use as far as I'm concerned. I wonder why this product isn't sold at automotive or other stores. It is truly worth the money.

Keeps my tires looking great

I was skeptical about trying this product but I wanted to keep my tires looking black without excessive gloss.

Just wash your tires, and use the applicator to apply onto your tires. My tires still look great after 2 weeks of use. I find I will use it twice a month to keep the tires looking great and to protect the tires.

The gel has a fruity smell. As long as you follow instructions, you should not have streaks or water marks.

I trust Meguiar's for all of my car care needs.

I highly recommend this product.

The staff and I at Palm Beach Motoring studied all the various brushes on the market and compared their pros and cons. Ultimately I took our wish list for the perfect wheel brush to Dean Henderson at EZ Detail Brush, Inc. Dean had already created the ultimate motorcycle detailing brush with the EZ Detail Brush. Good for certain uses

This brush is good for certain rims (the ones that have a lot of spokes or little areas to get inbetween) and certain uses (cleaning the inside of the rim behind the spokes). I tried it on my 5 spoke rims, hoping for a faster way to clean my wheels, but it really did a poor job- some brake dust left (of course, I used all it with various types of wheel cleaning chemicals too- ie: soap water or PS21 wheel cleaner). This is most likely due to the material the brush is made out of. It feels like a medium plastic. Soft enough to damage the rims, but not soft enough to actually wipe of the brake dust. For those parents out there, it's like the prickly part of a baby bottle brush.

If I knew, I wouldn't have bought it. It's just not for my rims. But maybe great for someone elses.

What a blessing!

The brake dust on my 2010 Audi S4 is horrible; the brake pads are very soft and it's hard to keep up with the black dust. I'm anxiously waiting for a brake manufacturer to release ceramic pads for this car, but in the meantime I've found some salvation.

The Daytona Speed Master brush and a bucket full of sudsy Dawn detergent helps to get four nineteen inch wheels spotlessly clean within ten minutes. The brush quickly gets the Dawn into every nook and cranny (including the inner barrel of the wheels) so it can soak the ugly black dust off the wheel. Finally, a quick rinse and done!

Quite a step forward in tire spoogey products...

Once we get others past the "absurd" notion of treating our tires with product then it is very nice to see an advance from the bad old days of Armor All spinning off your spiffy clean & "conditioned" tires all over the wheels, or worse, the finish of the vehicle.

Turtle Wax "Wet -n- Black" is quite a thick gel that is easy to manage and spreads quite well over a large area so you get better bang for buck.

I am a first time user, this evening, so will have to update post as to longevity, etc. but the initial applications went quite smoothly [two are recommended for vehicles like mine that haven't been detailed recently or to obtain SUPER wet & black...], and thus far it is living up to expectations with nice black shiny "wet" wheels, little trouble with run off or smear over, relative ease of handling [proper purple medical service type gloves are recommended when handling this and all other vehicle detailing chemicals] and no horrid smell or strange color to limit the application - doe anybody remember the Tire Gel with Glitter incorporated ??? spoooky.

Bonus round: this stuff is thick enough that it can easily be used on dark or light rubber molding / trim elements without fear of discoloration... going to try it on some weather stripping next.

Works, but be prepared to scrub

This wheel cleaner works fine, but it's far from potent enough to spray and then hose off. Be prepared to have to scrub/wipe your wheels off and then rise.

Terrible product

Read other reviews and gave a try. Would not remove simple brake dust. Have used Simple Green and Citrus based cleaners before and will go back to these. Less expensive and work much better

A very desent cleaner!

This product really does a great job. If your wheels havent been cared very well then it will be not that easy to take off the brake dust. I got a Benz that had all 4 wheels with a heavy coat of brake dust, specially on the front wheels. I tried taking it off with regular detergent and a brush but it didnt come off so i got this wheel cleaner and tried it.

It doesnt really work like it says... "spray it on, let it work and rinse off"... you have to do a small job too, just apply it and scrub it with any wheel brush and you will be amazed how good it takes off the brake dust.

I rated it 4 stars beause i noticed that it dries very quick and if this happens your wheels will get a little stained... which comes off after two more washes but anyway... that could be improved.

HIghly recomended product.

This product works better than anything else I've tried to quickly clean off stubborn caked on brake dust from intricate alloy wheels. Spray on, wait a few minutes, hose off. Doesn't always take all of the dirt off but works very well.

Quick Spair ends flat tire worry's

I purchased the Slime brand because it will not ruin the tire pressure monetor sensors and washes out of the tire using plain old water. I bought a 16 ounce as well as a 20 ounce can to carry in my car at all times. I like the aerasol because it will blow up the tire enough to get you going. I once had to use Fix-A-Flat sealer and it turned into a very hard blob of plastic type crap that could not be removed from my tire at all. Places that sell gas do not ever have a working air hose. It is just a good product to have and hope you never need to use it.

fix-a-flat generics are NOT a dime a dozen, as everyone claims - your local auto store or gas station make a fortune selling these to you when you need them at $9 / can or better. Buy them NOW for less, put 'em in your cars, and forget about 'em. You'll remember this review if that time ever comes...

Glad I had this

I bought Slime Spair for my car's emergency kit. I used it yesterday for a nail in my Honda Odyssey tire and it held up overnight until I could get to the tire shop. It's very easy to use. I just connect the hose and press a button and it inflated my tire. I put some more air into the tire with my portable air compressor and didn't have any problems.

The guy at the tire shop says this stuff ruins the rims when people drive around with it in their tires for months. Since I only had it in overnight and I don't do it often, it was okay. They were able to clean it out and fix my tire so it's good as new. I'd rather do Slime than change a tire, so I am back on Amazon to buy another can.
